Can people call up and purchase things on your registry? I am planning on calling the Contact Us # tomorrow, but thought I'd throw this out to you all first..

ie. My mom and all her friends (and like my aunts etc.) are all in their 70's and 80's so are not big computer people....can they call up the registry? Or is that not possible at all and the only way to purchase gifts from the registry is on-line?

Thanks all!

Lori

Hmm I'm not sure...I just read the FAQ on the registry and didn't find anything! call and see what they say tomorrow.

I called DHR this morning and was told that people who do not have access to a computer can call and make purchases from your registry...

They just need to call (407) 566-7272 option #4.

I don't know if anyone else need to know this, but wanted to put it out there in case..

Did anyone just register for the Disney registery and nothing else? Is this okay to do? :confused3 DF and I have lived together for about 2 years and I hate cooking, so I don't want all that kitchen stuff? Do you think it's okay to only register for our honeymoon? I feel kinda bad getting presents anyways since we haven't really followed the rules/order. :rolleyes1 What do you think?

I know a handful of people did this. Supposedly it's a faux-pas to even HAVE a honeymoon registry, so f-'em... and do what you think is best. I think having a killer honeymoon is far better than any china you can get!

I called and spoke to a CM yesterday about booking my DDs honeymoon and he said "Did you sign up for our Honeymoon Registry?" First time I had ever heard of it. He said our wedding guests could purchase things for their honeymoon in lieu of a wedding gift. Which is fine for my DD since she and DBF already have most household things since they live together. We can't wait to check it out.

It IS very cool. ::yes:: When I first started adding things we were SO excited... DMIL is excited to get something off of it for us :hyper:, it's great!

I am only doing the HM registry. DF and I have owned our townhome for 1 1/2 years already and may family is cool with the registry.

We originally just registered with the HM registry. Then we heard a few comments from family that the older generation may view this as just giving out cash, which in DF's family isn't generally accepted as proper. So we also did a Bed Bath & Beyond registry. I was completely against a house-wear registry at first,(since we've lived together for 18 months now) but DF and I have had SO much fun registering for things we've always wanted!! And I LOVE to cook, so new kitchen gadgets are the best! Either way, its your wedding, do what you want :thumbsup2

Oh good I'm glad that people can call!!!!!!

I don't believe it's a faux-pas. It's one of the latest and greatest trends in the wedding industry. It's very 2008!;)
