Does anyone know anything about working from home?

I need some advice. I know that there are some very smart and savvy people here who might be able to help me. I really need to start working, but, I can't work a typical job with my two DD's 7 and 5 in school. Anything could happen, and it seems I am always needed at the school and what about vacations, unfortunately I have no backup. So, I was wondering if anyone works from home. I am a pretty good typist (45WPM) but, I have had no luck researching this online. I thought about taking a Medical billing/transcribing course, but I am afraid they might be a hoax. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Stacey ~ I do medical transcription at home. You can take a course on-line but you do need to make sure it is a reputable one. Stay away from PCDI and At-Home Professions type courses if you decide to go that route. This job is very flexible but there is always a deadline and expected turn around time. I think most people think because I work at home that I don't have a "real" job and am available 24 hours a day. PM me if you want more information.
