Does anyone know anything about a "bullseye rash"?

Octoberbride03 -- are you sure you removed the head and all? sometimes part of the tick can still be in the skin.

I thought there was a spider bite that could make a bullseye too. I googled it and it only showed ticks.

According to the pics I googled it "looked' like i got it all. I'm sure I got the head off but since its still bumpy maybe maybe part of the sucker or whatever is still in there. It doesn't itch at all though. And unlike the previous poster who it took it the Dr. I never thought of that. I just drowned it in the toilet.

Do y'all think I should have it looked at?

I'm feeling same as always so far. nothing flulike and no bullseye:confused:

What a timely thread. I worked in the yard on Saturday pulling weeds. Now, I have a bulls eye on my arm. I think it was a spider bite. Nasty!

I understand that your dh doesn't want to go to the doctor. I am sorry to hear all he has been battling with. But if it is Lyme, and he doesn't get it treated, it can lead to many life long complications. Best to get it checked out. Good luck!

Just keep in mind that the vast majority of people who get lyme disease do not have a rash of any kind. Usually if bitten by a tick it is best to have the tick itself tested because it can take some time for humans to develop titres high enough for a test to come back as conclusive. Since you do not have the tick anymore I would suggest just calling your doctor they may tell you that it is too early to test you for anything.

nothing to take chance with. Have your DH get tested. I found the tick in my head. 7 days later I ran a very high fever, seizures and I woke up 2 days later in the hospital. I tested positive for Lyme and had to have subsequent blood tests. It affects everyone differently. One tick put me out of commission for 2 months.:)

My best friend's daughter had a round red area with pimple in the middle and it ended up being MERSA. Please tell him to get checked.

I agree with MEREKC. My DH had a small rash like that. Went to Dr and they said spider bite...nope, it was MRSA and he ended up in the hospital for a few days and with a pic line for 6 weeks. Not because of the MRSA but because he let it go for so long. It started as a small white pimple that was sort of red with a ring around it. He said it was very itchy. Don't let it go to long before getting it checked. Odds are it is not MRSA but why wait.....Good luck.

MRSA is very antibiotic resistant, so even if your dh caught it early he still could have had the same outcome. My DN just got done battling it, and it was a very long process with more than one hospital stay. Its also very contagious.

OP, any update?

Does it look something like this?

If so, go see the Dr. as more then likely it's a tick bite and he has lyme disease. Not something you want to go untreated.

Yes I totally agree. A month of antibiotics is so worth it. Take it from me. I was bit no one wanted to treat me as there is no Lyme in Florida. So fast forward 10yrs, thousands of dollars spent and me being very ill. I really hope he gets the doxy it really will save him in the long run.

Wanted to add my experiences with Lyme Disease.

My 5 year old son got it last summer. We never saw a tick on him or a bull's eye rash.

He was cranky for a few weeks but no fever. Wasn't sick just wasn't his easy going self. Then he came down with a rash all over his trunk. It left and then came back. I thought he may have had ringworm but it didn't look right.

I thought of Lyme but the rash didn't fit that either. And it would come and go. One day he woke up and started complaining his leg hurt so bad he couldn't walk. Then he was fine and was running around. By noon time he was complaining about his legs hurting again. From rash to limp took about 1 week.

We took him to the Dr and he tested positive for lyme. The doctor said she had seen the rash like his a few times that year. It was not a bull's eye at all.

I know of many people that have got lyme disease and a few that got very very ill from it. Please get checked. I am paranoid now of ticks.

We found one in our dogs water bowl the other day. Ticks seem bad this year as our dog never has ticks on her yet somehow we found one in the house.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My then 5 year old got Lyme (we are in FL) and it didn't even occur to me that it was Lyme, but the ER Pediatrician figured it out. I hope you are better now.
