does anyone know how big the Junior suites are at the Contemp.? I was wondering how many they accom. also do they have a kitchenette?
Any other info would be helpful.
thanks

My best guess is that they are at least 50% larger than a "normal" room at the Contemporary. They have one King bed and one fold out couch... so i suppose they can accomodate 4 people. No kitchinett.. they do have a fridge with a "wet bar".

Hi-

We stayed in a junior suite in January of 2004 and September of 2004. Not sure of the sq footage; the rooms are located in the garden wings where the hallways bend around. (I am sure that sounds strange...)

I would say that the rooms sleep 4-there is a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa in the livingroom area. There is a wetbar with a small refrigerator and a coffee maker but no microwave. I have photos, let me know if you'd like me to email them to you.

Thanks. The offer of emailing the photos is nice of you, but if they only sleep 4 they aren't of any use for our family of 6. Thanks anyway.

Hi,

Don't know if this is too late but our suite was bigger than posted. It sounds the same/similar except we had an internal door that lead to a "regular" room with beds, bath, etc.

We were 4 adults and a child. My parents slept in the regular room and me, dh, and ds were in main area with sleeper sofa and bed. It had a regular size dining table, huge bathroom, etc.

I didn't book this room. We were booked in the "one" suite at the time at Shades of Green and during renovations we were moved here. I want to say they called it a one bedroom jr. suite. It was a few years back and when I asked for info people had little if any experience with these rooms. Even CM's weren't sure.

It was HUGE!! 2 entrances with one to I guess "jr. suite" part and one to separate "regular" room. 6 would fit into our configuation easily and "legal!" :teeth:

Sorry I can't come up with any more details!

iS IT A QUEEN SLEEPER SOFA OR A REGULAR SOFA BED? :cat: :cat:

I don't recall the size of the sleeper sofa; DS age 4 at the time slept on it. I don't want to be wrong in stating this but it might have been a full size bed.

I suspect a connecting room was added to your reservation to accomodate your family. When we stayed in the JR suite I noticed there was a door that connected to the next room which was a regular room.

Of course I could be very wrong and have proven it on many occassions!

Hi-WOW!!! Finally someone who has photos of the junior suites at CR! We stay there every year, and were always wondering about them!! I know I wasn't the original one to ask, but I would love to see them if you're still willing to send them. WE LOVE CR!!!

No, I can be wrong! :teeth: Happens all the time! ;) My point was our configuration was different with the addition of the regular room so they can accomodate more people but then it's not considered a Jr. suite, I guess? So, it's "my bad!"

Concierge level rooms and or suites can at times "connect" to make them bigger. When we were on the 14th floor at the Contemporary, for example, they had this ability.

Thanks!

Can you tell me what these jr. suites cost? I wonder how much it costs to add the regular room? As I said, I never "booked" these so I have no clue what they normally run and if the cost was on the back of the door I am blanking now! :teeth:

Oops!!! The Thanks was supposed to be at the end of the post!!!

No bad, it is all good :rotfl: My guess is that when you booked your accommodation at SOG there was nothing like that to accommodate your family at CR; the connecting room was added to make up for lost space and the cost of a one bedroom at SOG. Does that make any sense??

We've paid about $245 or so with an AP in Sept and January. To add another regular room would incur an additional cost. (Don't know how much a regualr garden wing room is off peak with an AP.)

You are the only other person I *know* who had this room! You all must love them! Didn't they have an extra large balcony?? I think we were in South tower where they put all SoG people?? I always wondered how that affected Contemporary "lovers" especially "wing" people. It's over know. :)

We always wondered if people in the North wing loved being close to the pool and South wing people liked being closer to walk to the MK.

May I ask what started your family in the Jr. suites??

We have stayed in so many of the WDW resorts and had so many visits I really can't remember *crap* anymore. :teeth: Plus we are cult members aka DVC members. :rotfl: People really think we lost our marbles....

I agree that the visits begin to run together after awhile (I am sure others will not sympathize with this dilemma... :rotfl: )

Yes, the JR Suite had the awesome big patio. On our first visit, our room was right across from the playground which DS age 4 LOVED. (umm, I think he forgot we were at DiSNEY WORLD!!!!!) We would open up the sliding door and sit on the patio and watch him play. I got such a kick out of the fact that there were two patios (his and hers????) and we watched the water parade every night.

As a kid it was always a dream to stay at the CR. Last year I was pricing out the cost of a weekend with CRO and a JR suite came up. I liked the thought of having all the space and being able to walk to the MK (we were in the north garden wing.) I have to admit that the furnishings are over the top and that the hallways are shabby but I still get such a huge grin on my face knowing we are sooooooooo close to the MK. I suspect we will stay in one when we visit on October for MNSSHP.

Good Lord...I am still messing up North and South tower :earseek:

Anywho...I am 39 and find many things starting to get "confuzal!" :smooth:

I loved the Contemporary too as a kid!!! I even like it during "Xmas" time. ;) I have to admit...I kind of felt like I was away from everything when we were in the wing but when we opened the door(s) we all almost died! Dad is retired DoD hence the SoG move to the Contemporary Jr. suite with extra room! We were there during Easter on this particular trip and they had an awesome Easter egg hunt!!!

It's "the" most convenient resort, imho, unless your in the Main Lodge over at the GF! ;) Staying in the tower at the CR even makes it easier! :teeth:

We were probably right over you. We had the balcony and thought ground level with play ground in front was awesome. Our family actually loves the views of bay lake with the sound of water mice bzzzzzing by! We never make a request for view in Tower cause we love both views. Well, we did have a magical view of the MK on the 14th floor and it felt like you could touch Space Mountain! :earboy2:

We are a family of 3. These Junior suites sound like an awesome alternative especially with a discount! ;) The room is awesome even with OUT the extra room my parents had! Our son(now 9) loves the CR's arcade and the DJ at the swimming pool, (I guess they still do this?), the marina....etc.

Sorry to ramble on and excuse any typos... :cool1:

There are several suites at the CR. In the wings are the Junior Suites. There are 4 in the North Garden wing on the ends and 6 in the South Garden wing. There are also 1 bedroom suites on the corners (elbow) of the wings. There are 2 in the North wing and 1 in the South. There are also 2 Hospitality suites in the South wing. These have a full kitchen and are really big.The prices for 2005 start at $310 for a junior suite, $800 for a 1 bedroom suite and $840 for a Hospitality suite. Then there are the suites in the tower/concierge. Those views are awesome:)

Do these junior suites have a SEPARATE bedroom with an interior door closing it off from the 'living room'. Also, does the actual 'bedroom' part have an exterior door to the hallway or patio? I'm looking for a suite with a separate bedroom with it's own interior door to the main sitting area, but NO access to the bedroom from the outside.

:flower: Ladies,

Lets hear the important details, Bathroom! The info says larger bathroom, how much larger can the CR bathroom get? Please give details. Thanks. ::MickeyMo
