There is a house in our neighborhood that still has their Christmas decorations up. Its the first house on the street. Icicle lights, colored lighted balls in the tree out front, decoration on the door. Just wondered if anyone else has this in their neighborhood. It doesnt really bother me - I think its kind of neat to see if the decorations are still there every day. I hope they make it to Easter.

Here and there I see people with the decorations still up. I don't mind if they are up still. I think it might be too cold to take them down, but at least unplug the lights. Christmas is over.

We just took our tree down last night. I'm part redneck, so it's okay :teeth: But we wanted to get the tree down before February this year.

Coming home last night I noticed alot of decorations still up and most of them were turned on.

we have people on the next block that still have a pumpkin man on their porch! I know people have their reasons for leaving things out, so I never let things like that bother me.

A better question would have been "has anyone in your neighborhood taken down their Christmas decorations yet?" Not only are almost all decorations still up, but they are still on at night.

We ARE in NC. So its not a total surprise :goodvibes

This house frequently has holiday decorations up way past when they should be. And they dont generally take care of their property (for example they painted about 3 years after the point that it looked like it needed painting). I notice this house so much because its the only other one in our neighborhood thats our exact floorplan.

But like I said I dont really care what they do - its kind of a game to watch. And I will be disappointed when the decorations are gone.

The weather isnt an excuse here by the way - we've had an unseasonably warm winter. Its been in the 60's and 70's the last few weeks.

Yes...it's our house. :)

I'm in charge of the inside decorations.
I took everything down & put them away 2 days after Christmas.

DH is in charge of the outside decorations & they will probably be there til Easter! I know I should go out there & do it. Oh,,,if I had a teenage son that would be his job today.

***I even turned them on the other night. ON Friday night DS7 had 2 friends come over for the evening who had never been to our neighborhood. When I gave their mom the directions to our house...I said...just look for the house with the Christmas lights.

Just finished taking down most of the outside decorations this weekend. Hope to get the icicle lights down this week....they aren't turned on though!

I voted yes. Two houses across the street from me still have wreaths and bows on their doors/bushes. These are the same two houses that didn't put up the decorations until a couple of days before Christmas. :rotfl:

Our next door neighbor still has theirs up...and I think it's hilarious because I think they're doing it to tick off the HOA!!! :rotfl:

Some people leave them up until the end of January, like they want to keep Christmas going for an extra month. Ours were down the first warm day.

Well, at least two nights ago, one of the houses behind us still had lights on. Hopefully, they're all down now since we had really nice, mild weather yesterday.

Yea, mom, I think we gotta tell dad that it's time for the lights to come down.

Yep, the two houses that have the most lights and decorations still have them turned on every night. I don't mind the lights being on, but it's time to take down the Santas and mangers.

So far, I'm the only one that voted no. We live in a townhome community and 95% of the people who live here are retired people so there weren't very many decorations to begin with. 3 units decorated really big and about 10 had wreaths or something small outside but it was all gone by last weekend.

Yep, and it's us and they still come on promptly at 630 pm. We have blue icicle lights and a small pine tree in the front yard with the big Christmas lights on it. The candy canes are down, though. Epcot calls theirs the Lights of Winter, so we do, too! We live in a rural area, though, so it's not too bad. The lights will be up until Spring (or DH has a day off), but we'll probably turn them off the end of January (about when we take down our Christmas tree...it's not a day, it's a season!)

:teeth:

I'm getting there. The village is finally down. The outside lights are down - although the wreath is still on the front door. Hopefully the tree will be down by tomorrow. A little at a time. Added a new baby to the mix and things aren't as easy as they used to be. :rotfl:
