Actually LIKE what they do for a living?

In the last couple of days we've had threads complaining about Retail and Education....how much people hate those they serve.

Is everyone trapped in a job they hate?

I'm in Healthcare...sure I have my days where it gets frustrating, but maybe I don't hate my job because we're in the business of saving lives. I find it ironic that so many people hate us when we really don't hate them.

Maybe that's the trick, everyone has to hate someone.

Ugh, well that's a happy thought for the morning.

So in the interest of starting my day on a better note, I'd like to say that I do NOT hate my job. I love the fact that I can help you during your time of need. I don't like that you're sick, but I like that I can help you get better. I don't like that I have families dealing with end of life issues, but I'm happy that I can comfort you as you grieve. I can't stand all the government regulation, but I appreciate the commitment to high quality care. I'm sorry you are going through such a difficult time, but I hope that I and my collegues can help you get through it and feel better. I know there are bad apples in my industry too and I will work my hardest to help them find a new job working somewhere else.

I'm a teacher. I love it. (I'm actually on child-rearing leave right now, but plan to return to teaching in a year or two).

Yes, there's paperwork and other crap to put up with, but I've NEVER had a job without crap to put up with. I love the relationship I develop with the kids, and I love watching them learn. It's amazing!

I know some teacher will bash me for saying this, but...I feel that I am fairly compensated for the amount of the year I work. It's a great job for a mom, and I really enjoy having the summers off, not to mention Christmas, Spring Break, etc.

I am basically a service rep at a big bank. I do love my job, now the customers sometimes I'm not so fond of but all in all yes!

I'm in Biotech and LOVE the science part of my job. Every project is a challenge.

What I HATE about my job is dealing the politics. Why oh why can't people just come to work and do their job as opposed to trying to "position" themselves with Sr. Management.

I love what I do. Wish I didn't have to do it so much.

I'm in retail and in education:upsidedow . I don't hate either job. I posted some of the extremes I've encountered on the retail vent thread. I love my teaching job:love: . Usually it's the adults at school that make me:headache: . I love seeing the little lightbulbs go off over my students heads when they start reading-probably the coolest thing about my job :)

I am a TA and I LOVE my job. You have to in this industry, it is not one you can do without having a passion for the job.

I've complained about rude customers, but I also stated that 9 out of 10 times when asked, I do love my job... it's just those days (particularly closer to the holidays when the 'ugly side' comes out of people) that it's like "Is THIS really what I signed up for...c'mon?!?!?" LOL

Overall, yes.

I really do like what I do. But, as a supervisor , sometimes I feel like I am leaving my 16yr old at home to referee 10 yr olds. :rotfl2: I keep thinking I may shut them in a room together and tell them not to come out until they work it out.

Me Me! I'm in Graphic Design and Marketing for the ITS unit of Penn State.

Love my job!

When employed (harumph!) I love what I do -- I work for associations, which help serve the needs of their members. Members can be demanding and wicked, but at the end of the day, you know you've helped the profession, and that you've helped people serving other people.

I am a SAHM who also does childcare in home. I have 2 little girls who are sisters ages 2 1/2 and 1 1/2. While they do fight and whine like crazy I wouldn't change it for the world. I get to stay home with my youngest and I also get to offer very inexpensive childcare to a working mom. I get pleasure out of what I do.

I am a teacher working on my counseling degree. I love working with teens. I don't love everything about it, and these days I'm frustrated alot, but I love that I have such an impact on kids lives. I love that I get to spend alot of time with my kids. I love my Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break and Summers. And I love that I get a fresh start every fall, instead of 30 years of uninterrupted work. There are many negatives, and my pay is one of them, but I have decided there is no other field for me other than education.

This is what I hope to do soon..

I LOVE my job as a librarian. I get to work in a place I love, surrounded by books (which I adore) and with people I truly enjoy. Like nearly anyone there are occasioanlly times when we have a patron who is not so nice, or just a situation that is uncomfortable or icky in some way and it feels good to vent about it to someone.

I have a job that pays the bills. I could take it or leave it. I like it enough I guess. I don't like getting out of bed on someone else's terms when it's 20 degrees outside and the bed is really warm.

It also helps support my primary occupation, which is father. That job I love. Mostly. I didn't really sleep that much last night but I'm sure I'll actually survive.

I am in law enforcement and I love my job. There are days but everyone has those.

Yes, for the most part I do. I work in the biotech field and it gets very frustrating dealing with some of the government agency:headache:
