Does anyone here work for LiveOps?

Kristine, you are probably working some of the same times I am. I try to work Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday 10pm-12am and then 12:30am-2:30, adjusted to block time. Since we are close to the end of the month, I worked last night too and haven't been to sleep yet.

OK..I've been following threads on LiveOps and West before and also looked at the other sites listed and read thru some of their forums. I'm seriously thinking it might be great for me. I worked for an inbound call center below and it was the best PT job I have ever had...of course this is a little different with it being here at home, but our youngest is now gone to K all day so I have more time but don't want to replace my current part time job...and picking up more hours there would mean I would have to commit to working them all the time. Here's my questions...if anyone can give me the answers I would really appreciate it! (I don't feel comfortable asking on wahm.com,etc.)

I called the phone company about the extra line..we used to have another line here so all I would have to do is have it reconnected and there is a 2-3 day turnaround for that. Can I do the online qualification stuff before I have it hooked up? I would hate to get it done (there is a 1 time $25 fee) and find out I don't qualify or I'm in the wrong part of the country (I'm in IL) anyways.

I could offer day availability (yeah...I bet so can everyone else!)..but I would have nights (probably 9PM-11:30) a few nights and atleast 1 weekend (Fri-Sat-or Sun) available too...for those of you who have done this, would you saying being willing and able to offer those later night shifts would be good for me to be able to pick up some hours?

Would you try to get in on both...or just 1 company or the other. I was thinking try 1 and see what I thought. Which one is easier to get started with.

Oh..I almost forgot..I read the LiveOps FAQs...whats with the $30 for a credit/background check?
Thanks!

Missy

Hi Missy:

Yes you can wait until you are qualified before you hook up your second phone line. The hours you want to work are the hours that a lot of Mother's work and they are good hours for getting calls too.

I used to work for both companies, but, I gave up West. That was just my own personal decision. They are both good companies. LiveOps does charge a $30 background fee. They check to see if you have any fraud type infractions in your past since you will be handling other people's personal information. The fee is not requested until they know you are the kind of person they are looking for and you make it back, plus a lot more, while you are still in training.

I don't know about liveops but west is not easy to get hooked up with. I applied twice and never heard a thing back from them :confused3 . I know they aren't always hiring, so maybe you need to keep applying every week? It really isn't as simple as wanting to work for these companies and applying, I'm not sure how one gets their foot in the door.

Kellydelly, You said it. You have to keep trying. West will only contact you when they are hiring. I submitted my app for them. It took them a month to get back to me.

I didn't have an issue with LiveOps either time. The first time, they were brand new and hadn't even opened up their doors yet. When I decided to go back, they welcomed me back quickly, probably since I had worked for them before. From the time I completed the new app to taking live calls was seven days.

I have some friends who are trying to get on with them now. I tell them all the same thing. Keep trying, persistence (sp?) pays off, don't quit.

I am very interested in Live Ops and West and contacted both online but they are not hiring for NY at this time :( This looks awesome and I was hoping someone would have another similar place in mind that I could contact. Please let mek now if there are any other call centers out there. Thanks :)

I have been considering quitting my job for a year now, but feel I need to make a little bit of money to make ends meet. A friend told me about LiveOps a while back, but I never looked into it. She looked into it, but never did start. I'm glad to hear this is legit. Do they take taxes out on you or are you an independent contractor and have to file taxes quarterly or just pay all taxes by April 15?

Miz Diz, You are an independent contractor. You handle your own taxes (and days off!!!)

I do want to say that in the beginning getting time slots can be difficult. It's first come first served when the schedule rolls out and those with seniority get first shot. Just don't want to mislead anyone into the idea that you can work as much as you want.
