Does anyone here sew?

I have a queen size bed, and I bought a king size duvet cover because I have thick mattresses and the queen size didn't fit. Problem is that while the queen duvet was too small, the king size is too big. I'm looking for someone who can trim it to size and sew it for me. Nothing too complicated, I just need a straight line on the edge! If anyone here has a sewing talent and wouldn't mind doing this project for me, could you please PM and let me know what you would charge me to do it? Thanks!

I'm feeling good - thanks for asking! I'm a little nervous because I'm waiting on ultrasound results next week. I've got some weird things going on and I think it might be my female problems acting up. At least I hope so, because at least I'll know what it is. We shall see. I swear I hate getting older.

If you lay the duvet on your bed, mark where you want it trimmed with either chalk or straight pins.

Take the marked duvet up to a dry cleaners as they will usually have someone there that can do alterations. It will probably take them a day or 2 to get it done and it will not be that expensive either.

(another suggestion wou;d be to check your phone book for an Alterations place-see if you can find one that has Russian women that do the work-not kidding! I have lived several places and I always look for a place like this as they are amazing seamstresses. )

What size is the comforter/duvet? Is it queen, or king like the cover? Do you need the comforter trimmed as well as the duvet cover? That would be a slightly more complicated sewing job. If it is just the cover, I would do as was previously suggested and mark it and take it to a dry cleaners that does alterations. Even better would be a friend with a sewing machine who could help you do it. If it's just the cover it should be a really simple job.
