Does anyone here hate to sweep the floor?

I think I do it twice a day. It seems like someone is always spilling crumbs or dragging something in.

I want a broom that works. I want a dustpan that meets the floor. I want a dustpan that is as wide as the broom. I can't stand it that I have to bend over and hold the dustpan 5 or 6 different times over the course of one sweeping session. I hate how hair doesn't sweep up very well (you know, on the bathroom floor?!) And I hate how dirty the broom seems to get.

Does anyone else hate to sweep as much as I do?

I just moved into a house with all dark wood floors on the main floor. They show every speck of dust and dirt so I hear ya!!!! WHen the sun comes out its even worse!!

I'm totally in love with my broom. It's called the One Sweep and you may have seen it on the infomercials. It's a fantastic broom that doesn't "spray" stuff all around as you sweep. It gets dog hair, cat hair, it also gathered up all the fir needles from our Christmas tree into one easy to gather up pile. I barely had to vacuum this year after taking down our tree. It works on every type of floor and doesn't scratch.

This thing ROCKS!

Oh oh, forgot to mention, it's totally washable and has a great squeegee on the other side.

You've got a better chance of winning the lotto!

I vaccuum or sweep mine just about every day. Between the dog, dd, and dh, it's constant.

Plus, DH made up a wonderfully fun game with the dog. He actually taught her to chase the broom and try to catch it. So, I would give anything just for a broom that's not falling apart. Oh, and I'd love to be able to sweep without having to put the dog in the basement or fight her while I try to sweep. :teeth:

if i ever go back to hardwoods or laminates i'm going to invest in one of those free standing bottom feeding vacuum bins. the hair salon i go to remodeled and has several of these-they sweep the stuff under it (it looks like a 2 drawer file cabinet) hit the power button with their foot and the sweepings are pulled up into a container that can be removed and emptied.

Yes. It really sucks when you can't see very well. I never knew if I got everything. I switched to an electric broom 5 years ago and I haven't looked back.
