Does anyone here enter sweepstakes?

I've really never been one to enter sweepstakes of any kind, however lately i've noticed a lot of "things" that are being given away in a sweepstakes. In many of the magazines that I buy, they are offering lots of giveaways like makeup and trips, even the yogurt I buy has a sweepstakes on the lid.

I've just started entering these for the heck of it, I figure why not? Hopefully I won't be bombarded with telemarketers or SPAM but I figure someone has got to win, right?

So tell me, do any of you enter sweepstakes and has anyone won anything?

Yes, there is a whole culture of folks out there who enter sweepstakes for fun and I'm one of those. There are numerous websites that list on-line sweepstakes and a few newsletters that publish what is commonly called "snail-mail sweepstakes." Every year there is a convention for those who enter sweepstakes, this year it's in IL in June, next year in Phoenix AZ

It is recommended that if you do enter on-line sweeps that you create an email address just for entering sweeps because you will be bombarded with spam, no way around it but the pay off can be worth it. I've won quite a few things, most notable a snail mail sweep that was a trip to Texas for the NASCAR race. I've won cash (not a great amount but it pays for stamps), an Ipod from Budweiser that was on-line, t-shirts, hats, gift certificates to K-Mart and Target. I've won a trip and a big screen TV for my brother-in-law, a $1000 K-Mart gift card for my mother-in-law, and lots of toys and videos for my neice and nephews.
