Does anyone have updated info on when final payment is due?

I booked my package directly through Disney. We arrive September 17th. I know it has always been 30 day before, but also heard that it’s been extended to 7 days ahead because of current Covid situation. TIA

I just spoke to a live CM on the phone, not in chat, and he said the final payment date was definitely 7 days before arrival. I was curious myself.

Excellent! Thanks so much. I usually pay via gift cards, using my Red card for the discount. I just want to be sure I leave myself as much time as possible to cancel in case things continue to digress in FL. I don’t want a bunch of $$ tied up in gift cards. Is that the same timeframe to receive a full refund , or do you lose your deposit at the 30 day mark?

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through October 3, 2020. If Guests need further assistance, they can reach us at the Disney Reservation Center through our online chat feature or by calling our reservation line.

Weird. I booked last week for August 2020 and my final payment is 30 days before check-in.

Yes that is the standard final payment due date for all packages.

Disney has not chosen to modify all the email communications to reflect Covid-19 related changes. Just swing by the link I posted above for the latest information from Disney. It has lots of the most current updates / information.

The section I posted is almost at the bottom of the web page, scroll all the way down or search for the section title Rooms and Packages.

Thank you! I see in that section as well that it appears that at 7 days out, if you haven’t paid in full they will automatically cancel your reservation and process your refund

Talked to CM yesterday. I didn't see this info on website.
CM said current extension was to 7 days but couldn't tell when that would change.
I ended up cancelling now for Aug 30th trip rather than risk losing deposit. No offers of discounts for future booking.

I was sort of freaking out because I did get the “your payment is due” email at 30 days, but I didn’t pay my balance until a week after I received that email and my reservation was not cancelled.

I probably would not wait until exactly 7 days, just because MDE is so glitchy, I would want a bit of a cushion.

Good thinking! I’ll probably pay around September 1st. By then I’ll know for sure and so will my kids. Their college schedules are changing daily at this point🙄
