i just looked at the dinner menus from the 4 day and there's really nothing i can eat (allergy problems).....not one thing...not even the salads...
they've unfortunately (for me anyway) changed the menu since the last time we cruised (when there were some really heavenly entrees i was able to eat)..

anyway, i could eat some of the items if they were cooked without the sauces....
so...to make a short question, way too long, does anyone know if they'll do that?...specially prepare an entree item but without the sauce on it (that means, completely cook it without it)...

i suspect i'll be living on ice cream.....it may sound good to you, but it gets really tiresome.....and you feel really hungry all the time...

They have a basic chicken breast an sirloin steak available all the time. These are without sauces. Also, check with your server, because on some entrees the sauces are added on top after cooking, and you can just have them leave the sauce off. As a person with food allergies myself I can understand the frsutration. My pet peeve is that all of the cheesecakses on board have nut crusts. Therefore I can't eat any of them. :-(

I would guess they will try to accomadate you if they can.
My In-Laws did a 4 day DCL Cruise a couple of years ago and had no problems - even with several in there party being highly allergic to onions....take them to the hospital allergic. I would make your server aware of your allergies and how severe they are on the first night.

My very limited experience is asking for a soup that wasn't cream based while onboard a 7 day cruise. I was offered a wonderful chicken noodle - with Mickey shaped noodles.

We got a medical information sheet from DCL that I faxed in with all of my son's allergy information. Later that afternoon I had a call from the medical customer service rep. She discussed all of his favorite foods and took notes. When we arrived for our first sit down dinner on board the entire staff knew all about our son and were more than helpful. We discussed the next days menu each evening and made a plan...they would always throw in a few fantastic safe surprises too!! Jon ( our head waiter) even made a birthday cake out of Jello for our DS(4).

They are fantastic and will take care of you completely. Just send in the medical form about 6 weeks before you sail or asap

Follow MNmom's advice and contact DCL asap.

Check the Welcome Aboard letter you get when you check in that says where to go to change dining rotations and make ressies for Palo. I would go there as soon as I board and see who you should contact to verify that they're aware of your restrictions.

I don't know what you're allergic to but check with the server at the buffet on embarcation day. If necessary they will be glad to check with the Galley to find out what ingredients are included in a dish.

Have a WONDERful cruise. I bet you find lots to eat besides ice cream.

We didn't face allergy issues, but on the first night when I didn't finish my salad--saving room for delights yet to come--our server asked if there was anything in it that I didn't like, as he would gladly request it fixed differently the nights after that. Heck, at home it comes out of a bag and I'm glad if it's not slimy! On one of the subsequent nights, my non-reading 5 y.o. ds asked for strawberries, with no clue they weren't on the menu; the ***'t server disappeared for a bit and came back with a bowl for him, and thereafter they were waiting for him every night. If they can do that sort of magic when it doesn't really matter, and with no advance notice, I am sure they can accomodate you after an advance discussion to find out your needs. Happy traveling, and bon appetit!

DCL is wonderful in dealing with allergies and special food needs. Send or fax them a letter with your requirements (including the medical form is a good idea.) Your server and head server will be aware of your needs when you board.

They will even bring special food on board to accomadate you if necessary. They absolutely will meet your needs! And, they are gracious and wonderful about it. The more info you can give them, the better they will be. On the first night, your server will talk with you, and will even bring out one of the chefs if necessary to be sure that they meet your needs.
