What do you do for your skin problems?
I have eczema , dry skin, and sensitive skin....

Me, I tried everything under the sun. I have used triamcinolone acetomide cream which extremely bad for your skin. I do use Aveeno skin relief soap which helps....I use zinc oxide that helps too for the eczema which helps to...I had used cetaphil products...

I'm 37, about 2 yrs ago I started to go through menupause...the hot flashes did me in with my eczema.:( trying to keep eczema under control been a nightmare.

I started laying in my tanning bed again...that helps but not good for dry skin...( I do keep my face covered while I am in the tanning bed)
"Anybody have any secrets....:)

Yep I have it and I am 37 also. Done everything you have...So now my thing is
A&D ointment on my hands wear white gloves till it soaks in
Proactive on my face
Cetaphil on body

After your shower try smoothing on baby oil before you dry off. It helps. Use a lot of whatever you are using, the lotions are not that different from each other. Try not to use really hot water when you shower. You are doing everything else I could have suggested. :)

My youngest DD has this condition. One product that seems to help is Sarna lotion. It's a bit hard to find, and a bit pricey, but, as long as it works, it's worth it.

I recently saw a new prescription cream advertised on TV that might be worth looking into.

I had excema during my childhood, and it's not only unsightly, the itching is awful.

I hope that you find relief.

This summer my hands started to be a mess. It almost looked like poison ivy because they itched so bad and were becoming raw from my scratching. While my doctor did give me medication to help clear it up, he also told me to keep my hands hydrated by using Lubriderm and washing only with Dove. (although I do use Cetaphil for the face). He also told me ALWAYS to wear gloves when cleaning, doing dishes, etc. (something I rarely remember to do and then I get an ugly flare up and I kick myself). He also recommended taking a daily supplement of flax seed oil.

Hope some of this helps you!

Well, I don't have eczema, but I have psoriasis. All I try to do is keep my skin mosturized...constantly. Stay away, obviously, from anything with a lot of fragrance...they all seem to have alcohol as one of their main ingredients. Cetaphil works really great, the cream is better than the lotion. If it gets really bad, see your doctor...they have so many different treatments for different skin conditions now.

go and only during the winter time......when I have sun on my body during the summer months I am fine......they did say that a tanning booth would help with the problem......but not about getting skin cancer for exposing our skin to that.......I have had perscription stuff for the itch....cause the itch drives me nutty......I use over the counter stuff ......for anti itch.....and I have finally found a product that gives my skin the moisture it needs......and actually did not need anti itch medication for once ........it is by avon and it is a soy body cream.......get a sample and try it.........I put it on after my shower on my legs and I am a happy person.......alot of the creams out there now have alot of perfumes and I and my hubby can not stand that....

I use Aquaphor on my daughter. She also has a prescropsion for flare ups. The aquaphore is like Vaseline, but I don't think it is as greasy. A large 16 oz. jar/tub costs about $15.00

I do take primrose pills with gla....
thanks everyone...I think I will try creams...instead of lotions...I never heard of soy cream by avon...I will check into that....
I have been rubbing vasiline on body at night...i going to try oil after my shower..........I don't have on my hands but my arms, chest, stomach and legs....the itching drives me nuts.....I have gotten my arms pretty much cleared up and alot off my chest...:( ...thanks everyone...I don't feel so alone now....

My DD and I both have excema and the doctor gave us a new cream (the one dvcreg mentioned) and it is WONDERFUL!!! It is called ELIDEL and it works to calm the immune system down and relieve the excema. This is a totally different action from steriodial creams. I read the entire insert and was very pleased with all the studies. Unlike steroid creams, this one does not metabilize in your system nor does it build up in the blood stream - very important factors when dealing with excema in young children. So now, I use Cetaphil on DD after every bath, really slather her up, and whenever I see a bit of excema starting, usually a dose or two will stop it before it gets bed. I still have to use Elocon(steriod cream) on my hands because the skin on your hands is too thick for most creams. I put it on and then wear cotton gloves to bed and that seems to work the best.

I just found this link that has all the info you need:

Hope this helps!

My dermatologist gave me about 20 tiny tubes of that Elidel! I need to go put some on NOW, I am itching...

Mine is so bad even dusting the furniture with polish makes them get blisters, crack and bleed. My wonderful husband cleans the kitchen and bathrooms because of this.

One thing I have found for the dry, itchy skin elsewhere is a shower gel called Skin Milk. I got it at Walmart. It's very soothing. Another one is from Clinque, Skin Cushion Body Wash, but it's kind of pricey. I also use Eucerin cream on my hands instead of regular lotion.

For the bad outbraeks on my hands my doctor prescribed Ultravate ointment, unfortunately it's a steroid ointment so I try to use it sparingly. Hope some of this helps.

Last year I had terrible exzema in my eyebrows and between them I used Loreal Plenitude Hydra-Fresh Moisturizer with SPF 15 and it cleared up completely! I still use it daily and it hasn't returned.

My 11yo DD has extremely dry skin, the only thing that has ever seemed to make a difference is creamy vaseline. It is the same as regular just not as greasy. The problem with most lotions is they have perfumes or other things in them that make it worse for her.
