I am going into my freshman year of college in the fall. I have wanted to do this internship since sixth grade. The school I am applying to does work with the program. I just wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how to get into the program for the fall of my sophomore year. I am already on the mailing list on the college internship website. Any info would be great! :)

I don't know. I definitely prefer the Fall program over the Spring program (and I can say this from experience). It is so magical being down here over the holidays.

I did the CP program a few years ago, and I agree its worth it to do it during the holidays. As for advice, be yourself and be professional.

My only tip is to be alive and don't have a criminal record and you'll get in.

I also agree about not having a criminal record, that usually helps. Be yourself, but try to be cheerful. Also, it helps to pick several jobs on the sheet they give you. If you only pick "attractions" then you have really narrowed your chances. Good Luck:goodvibes

Thanks! :goodvibes What are the jobs you can choose from?

When I interviewed (back in 2003) we sat thru the presentation and then we were given several papers to fill out. I was taken into a room with my interviewer and another person. (So be prepared to interview in a group) One of the sheets had check boxes "Pick where you want to work" If I remember correctly they were: attractions (which included parking lot trams :confused3 ) food, life guard, merchandise, hotel, costuming, custodial, and random office stuff.
In your interview you will discuss what you picked and what you didn't. For example, I checked off everything except for food and lifeguarding and I was asked why. Tell the truth. My reasons were: I'm a vegetarian, working at a Turkey Leg Stand is not the place for me and I can't swim.
I was also a campus rep for 2 years after CP. I know that they recruiters only have so many spots for each work area (2 for merch, 3 for attractions, etc) so the more options you choose, the better chances you have.
GOOD LUCK!

That's true. For both CPs I picked 3 options. I picked character attendant, ops, and merch for the first one (got merch) and picked character performer, character attendant, and and ops for the 2nd one (got character attendant).
