Does anyone have alternative for Girl Gourmet cupcake refill?

Girl gourmet homemade refills are ridiculously expensive! Has anyone tried any substitutes?

I don't know if you have any AC Moore stores that are going out of business near you, but the one near me had them very cheap the last time I was there. I considered buying them, so they must have really been cheap, but they didn't have anything but refills so I didn't bother.

My daughter got it as a gift. It is kind of a big mess. I don't think I would give it as a gift.
