Just wondered if anyone ever goes to DL or do you all go to WDW??

We are going to DL in September & was kinda wondering if anyone else was going to be there around then also.:D

Definitely have done both - but have not been to DL since 1998. Sheree Bobbins just returned from DL and DCA and said she had a great time - and that DCA was really fun. I need to get back just to check out the new park.

Plus I miss the Matterhorn and the Indiana Jones ride! Two definite MISSING things at WDW. :)

And DL (or at least DCA) has Soarin - what an experience!!!
I love both DL and WDW. Both different, but both magical....

We're going to Disneyland for the first time in just 3 days!!! To say I'm excited is a big understatement. :) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Nutsy, I've only been to WDW. It's almost 550 miles from where I live. DL is almost 2200 miles away. My SO won't fly.

I would love to go to DL, but it's farther. I think that it would be so magical to be where Walt actually stood. :)

I *love* DL! Sometimes I much prefer to go to DL than to WDW. :)

We love DL. We were just there in April. You can still feel Walts genious and guiding hand in Disneyland. It is small, intimate and intensly magical. For a 1 - 3 day vistit, Disneyland is great. I highly recommend that all Disney fans visit Disneyland at least once so you can see the magic that Walt actually created first hand. Its an amazing experience.

We love WDW for longer visits. While Walt's touch is not so keenly felt there, there is so much to do that you could easily spend 2 weeks and not not get tired of the place.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

I know what you are saying Shannon. It's like us....DL is far easier & cheaper to access than WDW is.

The airfare from LA to FL is as much as it is to fly from here to LA, so as much as we would dearly love to see WDW, it will have to wait till we are rich & famous!!:p :Pinkbounc :bounce:

You summed up DL so well WDWHound! WDW is wonderful, but DL has a magic that WDW just doesn't come close to. WDW is the perfect place when looking for a touch of Disney that lasts justs a bit longer than 2 or 3 days, but I'll always have a special place in my heart for DL.

Hey Nutsy! We'll be there in September too! :bounce: What week in Sept. will you be there???? ;)

We are going to Disneyland but not until Febrary. Dieneyland is also much closer and cheaper for us to visit so we tend to go at least once a year. Our first trip to WDW was last year.

I grew up at Disneyland.... ANd I cant wait to go back. I miss my Matahorn, the BEST IASW facide, and the REAL HM! But FLA is 2 1/2 flight Calif is 4 1/2 hour flight and for now, with the two little ones, 1/2 the flight time is way way better.

I cant wait to go back.........

LOL Kama my friend...............

You very well know what week we will be there............the same one as you GOOSE!!:p :p

Are you ready????

Oh yeah, that's right! :teeth: This will be my first "Dis" meet. :teeth: Hee hee! :teeth:

Are you ready????
Yes and no. I am, but my wallet isn't. :( Now if computers would stop crashing on me, I might just be able to get my pennies in order!

Don't be mad at me, but I'm just not interested in DL. I guess since I live here in FL it's just easier to get to DW. My friend who lived in Cali likes DL better, but she has enjoyed DW the couple of times that she went. I've just heard that DW is so much more magical. Guess I don't want it "ruined" by visiting DL. Who knows, if DH and I go to visit his Grammie in Cali, I just might have to make time for it. :smooth:

DL is great, Nutsy. I have been there 4 times over the years, twice last year. As said, it is really more magical than WDW, it has a charm of its own. A number of the rides and attractions just are not available or duplicated at WDW. PoC is way better, as is ISWA. Tarzan's Tree House and Indiana Jones are uniquely different that the WDW counterparts, Swiss Family and Dinosaur. Space Mt is different, as is Splash. You have the Matterhorn, the Storybook Canal Boats, and also Mr Toad still. The Autotopia is better, IMO, and HM is different. The Columbia sailing ship, if running, is a beautiful sight. Fantasmic! is different and breathtaking. The streets and back shops are very nice, and again, quite different.

Now, the Castle. Though small, it is THE ONE Walt bulit, so it has its charm that cannot be replaced by anything.

You will love it, Nutsy. I wish I was going soon. :earsboy:

Living in Orange County, CA, I go to DL way more often than WDW. I usually go to DL twice a month at the bare minimum, usually much more often than that, but I have only been to WDW twice, with my first time being in April, 2001. The chances of me going back soon are slim, also. I have to enjoy DL as much as possible since my parents aren't as into Disney as I am, and so my trips to WDW are limited. I prefer DL over MK, anyways, as DL is definitely my 2nd home. :) (Although I don't prefer the DL Resort over WDW...)

I loved DLR. It certainly has a different feel to it. There is the additional Magic of Walt actually having his hand in it. Then there is how close everything is, you can really, really park hop by just walking across the esplanade between DL and DCA, and DTD and the hotels are right there as well. It makes for a really cozy feeling. I can't wait to go back!!!!!

DL is the best park IMO.

Indy blows Dino away.

Space Mountain is better (when the music is working).

IASW is much better.

Fantasmic! is much better.

PotC is better.

Fantasyland (façades, rides & all) is better.

Mr. Toad...'nuff said.

Matterhorn...'nuff said.

BTW...did I mention DL is my favorite park? ;)
