Does anyone go to Disney with kids, but without spouse?

Yep, Our first trip is going to be without dh. It's for a couple reasons. He;s never flown before and is scared to fly. He also won't have any vacation time for another few months or so. I'm a bit bummed out about it as our trip gets closer b/c I'd love for him to share this with us. He's coming next time for sure! Even if I have to drug him to get him on that plane! :rotfl2:

I have gone twice without my husband with just the kids.....the times he was not with us were the best times there!! princess:

I wish he were a different type of person so he could enjoy life like us. princess:

I haven't yet, but there's a good chance that DH will not be able to stay for the whole 2 weeks when we go next year, so he'll come home early and we'll stay on as planned. My parents will be there too, so we won't be alone. The reason we'd stay is that we'll already have the accomodations (parents' timeshare weeks), so why not?

We are married to similar men. The kids and I fell head over heels in love with Disney and have talked about our trip each and every day since we got back, over a year ago. We are dying to go back. My dh is a bit of a sourpus. He's a good man, and a wonderful father, but he simply does not have the Disney spirit. Not at Disney World or anywhere else. We talk of another trip often but he clearly does not want to go and does not understand why I do. I have often thought about going without him, but I wasn't sure whether I can handle three kids alone. Now I'm wondering "why not?" I handle all three kids alone in just about every other aspect of life, why not vacation? I hate to drag Mr. Soupus on another vacation where he isn't having fun. It puts a damper on everything.

I'm very grateful for this thread. It's got my mind working.

I'm not sure that I *like* going without my DH. I took the kids by myself last year with a friend of mine because DH was in Iraq. And next year we will probably make a quick trip without him because he will be in Korea. But when he is here with us I try to make sure he goes. I don't like to leave him alone when we go to WDW, he acts like he doesn't like to go but has a great time while we are there. I do look forward to our solo trip in March because the kids and I can experience Disney in a slow and calm way instead of having to be all commando about it :rotfl:
