Does anyone else's kid hate the pullout couch?

We said if there's a problem that me and my husband may try the pull out, but we both have back issues as it is and wouldn't want to aggravate anything on vacation! We'll see what happens! We also told them one of these days we may be able to spring for the 2 bedroom and they can each have their own queen bed!
Kids can have back issues too. My DD has always had a sensitive back and we try to make sure she doesn't hurt herself with a bad bed.

I wish there was Murphy bed in lieu of the sofa bed in the studios. It's a pain to fold it back up everyday.

Have noticed when GD comes along she prefers to just sleep on the closed sofa, saying it's more comfy. :confused3

We have not encountered a decent sofa bed on property yet. BWV by far the worst about 3 years ago. Hope new sleepers are better. We have brought the Aerobed a few times which worked very well. 2 queen beds is exactly what drew us to OKW. Maybe an SSR expert could confirm if some of the 2 bedrooms do in fact have two queens in the second bedroom? I personally will sacrifice a lot in theme/amenities, even location for a comfortable bed for all.

My girls hate them too. They will sleep on them, but they don't like it. We did a trip for a few days over spring break. We only booked a few months out. I gave the girls a choice between SSR and OKW and they picked OKW because of the two beds in the studio. Then they complain about having to sleep together! First world problems...
We get 1 bedrooms sometimes, but that doesn't help the sleeping surfaces.

The pull out sofa beds at BCV are really nice and comfy (we stayed there last weekend). VGF has very comfy sofa beds, too. (No bars felt and no loud springs heard)! The murphy bed at VGF was also very nice. (And I'm a sofa bed hater too).

The SSR dedicated two bedrooms have two queens in the second bedroom.

WOW I always take the pullout for myself. The girls all sleep with Mom and get to spread out on the pull out for myself. Have never had a bad sleep yet. Handy for me in the 1bdrm since I am an early riser and take off for my morning stroll and coffee. Then come back and wake everyone up. No issues here.

My 70 year old mom slept on the fold down bed in a poly studio this past December, so your dd has many years still left

I had planned on making a similar comment. My sister, who is 33-years-old, enjoys sleeping on the Murphy Bed more than the sleeper sofa. She is 5'7" and finds the Murphy Beds at BCV, PVB, and VGF to be equally comfortable.

"or we stay home" punishes everyone.

"The sofa or the floor, chica mia" is how I'd put it.

Grandma will stay over (and does since my son has gotten to the 'Disney is stupid' age - he's also at the age where I don't need my house turned into party central while I'm out of town - hence Grandma, who is there to 'take care of the dogs.'

But that is "or you stay home," not "we." :jumping1:

Our oldest complained about the sofa bed, he doesn't go with us any more.

DD did that when she was younger - may try that again at AKV. She loves the tiny Murphy beds that are in the newer resorts and renovated BCV.

I totally agree - I've slept on maybe 1 comfortable sofa bed in my entire life, not just including DVC. Maybe I'm picky, I know others enjoy them.

Yeah, I really wish the 1BRs helped the sleeping surfaces! It's cool that you narrowed it down to the 2 resorts you wanted, then let the girls pick.

We chatted about our next trip yesterday, and DD said she specifically dislikes the sofa beds because they are "squeaky and feel like springs with a little mattress." However, she's on board with going back to AKV for January. Now we are booked at AKV Kidani studio - giraffes won out over the sofa bed issue. DD said she may sleep on the floor! :upsidedow

Our experience has been that the single pull out chair is much more comfortable than the pull out couches. I did sleep on the pull out couch one night on our last trip to OKW and it was terrible. My 13 year old had no problem with the chair though.

have a relative she doesn't like? Tell her it's the sofa or home with Aunt Sophia and we'll see ya when we get home.

We're a family of 3 as well and our son does not like the pull out sofa as well. The pull down Murphy beds available at poly and now bwv are a bit better though he's not too thrilled with those either..I like them because we can at least keep the couch closed to sit on. He recently went on a trip just him and my sister..they went to pop and he was thrilled to have his very own "real' bed.

I didn't think there were any of those style of sleeper sofas left in the villas? The ones we've had in the past few years have all been newer with foam type mattress and no bars. I think OKW was the last we saw of the old spring style with bars although we often don't use the sleeper so may have missed the old ones still hanging around somewhere.

I guess we are lucky. Our daughter LOVES to stay on the sofa bed. So much so that we tease her that next trip we get the sofa bed and she stays in the bed. Every night she runs to "claim" the sofa as hers. We always just made it a game and it's stuck.

Not sure if any other studios have it bit my DD 14 does not like sofabeds. She LOVED the pull down Murphy at the poly. It is so cute and my DD said very comfy.
