That they had another dining plan in between the basic and deluxe. We got the deluxe last time and it was WAY too much food! It almost seemed like ok wake up, eat, go on a ride, eat, go on another ride, eat, go to bed (ok ok maybe not really but you get what I mean). We are getting a bouceback with free dining (basic) but i am fearful that it won't be enough food. I just wish that they had a dining plan that had 1 table service and 2 quick services and the 1 snack or 1 table service 1 quick and 2 snacks or 2 table service, 1 quick, 1 snack. Do any of you agree? :confused3

I agree... having never done it before we're wondering how we're going to spread out the meals... likely will share some QS? I'm thinking Disney does this so that we end up still buying food within the parks anyway???

No. That's too many different plans. The more choices you offer, the harder it is to choose AND the harder it is to administer/control.

If one plan offers too much food and one plan offers not enough food, another option would be not to participate in any dining plan.

Hmm... I think if you do Signature restaurants it's more do-able.

2 meals + 2 snacks (especially if one is a drink) is perfect for us!:thumbsup2

The DxDP is pretty much like you described. It can be used for any combination of meals - 1 TS 2 CS, 3TS or 3 CS or any mix you want. Based on the price though, most use it for all TS which is time consuming and filling!

We use the DDE card (or TiW :sad2: ) it gives us a discount without being tied to a prepaid meal plan. If we don't feel like another TS, we do not worry about wasted credits.

Lots of options, everyone just has to decide what works for their family :woohoo:

There is the new counter service plan that you might want to consider. :flower3:

We tend to do a TS or CS breakfast and a TS dinner with a snack in between. I would love something in between that was for 2 meals and a snack - say in the $50 - $55 adult range?

The basic dining plan is perfect in my opinion. We have quick breakfast in the room, usally my husband buys some donuts and milk from the food court (with snack credits) or we eat the cereal or granola bars I bring; then we eat an early CS lunch between 11:00 and 11:30; we do a snack around 3:00 or so; and then we do our TS meal between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.

I'm sorry I'm new was is DDE/TIS? Thanks

It's a discount card that is available for purchase for anyone with an AP or who is a Florida resident.

VERY basically - it gives you 20% off at almost all TS places (anyplace that takes the DDP and a few extras) You get the discount on your total purchase (including alcohol)

It also gives you a discount at very few CS places. Basically value resorts and DVC resorts, as well as most AK CS's (excluding Yak and Yeti)

Yes, I agree with the OP. We were on the basic DDP and paid for some meals OOP. However, the DxDP seems like too much food. And the new QS plan would not work for us at all! So I keep debating which to choose the next time we go. :)

Ditto. Thanks; you just saved me some typing.:lmao:

we've done the basic dining plan several times now, and think it's just the perfect amount of food...after the first day, we were rarely hungry between meals, at all. We used the snack credit for a breakfast pastry (had a coffee maker in our room for coffee & pastry for breakfast) We did rope-drop every day at our choice of park, then did counter service lunch either at the park or back at the resort. We had reservations at a one-table service restaurant every evening --either at our evening park or near by location. The only way we'd ever consider doing the deluxe is if we suddenly decided we needed to do all 2-credit table service. And that's not happening...we've done some of them & don't think they're worth the time or the 2 credits (just our opinion, of course-I know some people love the signature restaurants, just not us;) )

On the last two trips, a couple of times we paid for an OOP of snack (mickey bar or dole whip) but that was more of a nostalgia-tradition thing than a hunger thing. We really were full the majority of the time. We did bring a grocery bag full of snacks & poptarts with us...they virtually all came home (we ate a few on the roadtrip home.) I'd say the total we spent OOP for food at WDW in September was less than $10 for the both of us in 6 days. In May, might have spent $20 (had DD & her BF with us)

Now,maybe if you use your credits differently, you're getting a lot less food. Like if you use your counter service for breakfast, or use the table service for breakfast or lunch, I can see you not getting enough food to stay full.
