Does anyone else wish they'd go back to limiting and charging for Evening EMH's?

What I WISH they would limit are the numbers that they let into the hard-ticket events (like MVMCP) MUCH more than they do. Holy buckets! I hate dropping that kind of cash and STILL having to wait 30 minutes to an hour for popular rides with limited time (I know people will say they didn't, and often I didn't have to but I'm just sayin' my last trip had a line for SM out the front of the attraction). I won't do it again unless I know it's not sold out and/or they cut back on numbers allowed in.

I would like to see them do TWO EMH nights at no additional charge tied to the higher rack rate times at the resorts (buzy summer, Christmas, Easter, etc) as a resort perk during the buzy seasons with ONLY WDW resort guests allowed beyond the "main street" entrance of each park.

Each guest without that day's dated resort bracelet available from your home resort OR from guest services (& this could be monitored like a FP, issued unique to your name/resort ressie) would not be permitted past the designated area. Non-resort/no braclet guests could shop or buy food on the main street area only. If they were already past the designated area there would be an pleasant announcement that they are welcome to stay & shop on Main Street as only resort guests are now permitted inside the park.

Having 2 parks to choose from it would make it less crowded for the resort guests.

We must be going to different EMH nights. We have never had long waits for anything. I like it this way; we pay enough to get park tickets and the higher prices for resorts.

During peek times, I've seen 45 minute waits for Space Mountain at 1:00 AM. I've seen the line backed almost to Buz. Unless you've experienced the other, there's no comparison.

You bet...........we attended a few when they offered them, you paid 10 bucks each and had the run of the park, they limited the number they sold.........best thing they ever offered. This EMH they offer now is a joke, not clearing the parks of non resort people is the problem, just too crowded even though they can't ride anything.

Yeah, 10 buck would be fine with me but I would like to have the option to purchase without having to waste time in line every morning just to get the ticket.

The big deal is that they congest the park. Whether riding the rides, or not the parks are way way too conjested with the extra people there. That's what Disney wants. They want people buying things, even though they can't ride the rides. If they would charge during the peak season, they wouldn't need to limit the number coming in. Charging would do that for them, especially if they charged enough.

Those E-nights sound like they were wonderful. I have to say I am not sure I would like them now. We always stay on property and love EMH. Except for holiday weekends they haven't been as crowded as regular nights. If it was $10, $20, even $35 to go back for the extra hours I wouldn't mind the money so much as the fact it would be limited to the number of people on a first come first served basis. It would be yet more planning, making sure we bought tickets before they ran out etc. That's not what I want to do on vacation. If it's a nice night I want to enjoy the perk of going into the park for EMH, not be shut out because I didn't buy a ticket in advance.

I can't see Disney clearing the parks. They always have allowed people to shop way past closing time and I imagine that they make plenty of money allowing this.

We did attend the late nights back when they charged and I liked it personally.

I never knew that this experience even existed...I would be okay with paying for this however, just like all things that must be paid for there will soon be a price increase...and it will increase until I know longer want to pay for it. So I am very sure that if this happens again it probably won't be $10 and whatever price it is it won't stay at that $ amount for too long...

Now that's a good idea! 2 parks with EMH would certainly cut down on the crowds!

Last summer, we took advantage of th EMH being resort guests and at MK, we rode Big Thunder Railroad and Splash Mountain over and over and over - the CM were awesom at checking! But a bracelet does sound like a good idea!

Oh, how I loved the E-Nights. The last ones I went to were $12 pp for the night. Then, they stopped them and added in character caravans at the resorts in the mornings. Disney said that guests wanted characters more than they wanted E-Nights, so they were just giving the guests what they wanted. Man, thousands of people must have written/emailed to Disney about that one!!
So..out came EMHs. Every year they get more and more crowded. I will attend them if they go very late into the night....say 1am or later. Otherwise, there are just too many people in there. Sure, it's for resort guests, and only they can ride the attractions. But, non-resort guests are in there, clogging up the area, making it hard to get around. Disney has no problem allowing non-resort guests to shop and eat..so they threw us, the resort guest, a bone saying that you have to show your room key in order to get on the rides. Big whoop. We all know that non-resort guests are getting on the rides later in the evening. It's common knowledge. The CMs stop asking for room keys about 90 mins into the EMHs.

I will try to go to the morning EMHs..they are much more enjoyable. Fewer non-resort guests in there at that time.
But I will say..it would be nice if they had two parks with EMHs on the same night..it would mean fewer people in each park. But, they aren't going to do that. That would mean spending more money on Disney's part and it wouldn't be offset by guests in the parks spending.

Wow do I miss the good ole days when a limited number of people, I think 5000 staying on property (first come first serve) could pay $10, get a bracelet before closing time, and then go and walk on after closing time, just about every E ticket ride. The Magic Kingdom seemed completely empty. Those were the good ole days.

I do remember that, DH & I did that in 1997 on our trip and I remember walking on/off Space Mtn so many times I was getting sick. I think we rode it ten times in a row.

Of course now with the little ones, we never make it to the late EMH so it really doesn't matter for now.

Agreed - no matter what they do, there will be complainers. So, maybe they should mix it up once in a while and offer e-nights as a special perk

E nights were great. Now I always visit the low crowd non emh parks. I guess emh is good for that, it keeps the other parks less crowded.

If they don't want to pay, they don't have to. It was just an incredible experience that I wish they would bring back during peak seasons at least.

I follow that strategy too. For example, I was there the first full week of December last year. Monday was evening EMH at MK. We went to DHS instead. ToT was a walk-on at 10:00am! All the lines were short except TSM and that was about 60 min, much less than usual. It was posted that MK was very crowded that day.

Need clarification! The last time we went you showed you room card and got a bracelet then rode till it closed or you dropped. It was only open to resort guests, no fee. Am I understanding this correctly?....Now you need to show your room card at each ride instead of bracelet, but it's still only open to resort guests right?
