Does anyone else think the busses suck?

lol, you obviously dont use buses in your day to day life outside Disney Parks. It always makes me laugh when I see complaints about the Park buses. I have to use a bus to get to work every day. I leave my house at the same time each morning and can wait anything from 5 minutes to 15 minutes for the bus to turn up. I might or might not get a seat and might have to stand for the 40 minutes ride. In the winter during school time, the bus might not even stop as by the time it gets to me its full and then I have to wait another 15 minutes for the next bus.

I leave my work at the same time every day. I could wait anything from 5 minutes to 20 minutes for the bus to turn up.

I used to think that until I stayed at CR primarily for the monorail...which broke down half of my vacation...if it weren't for the busses, we would have needed to pay for a taxi. At CR there is now a bus schedule posted so that you know when each bus is due to arrive. It was very accurate, and it gave us peace of mind. The monorail caused us tremendous stress...especially because the CM's had no idea what was going on with them.

Now I LOVE the busses. At least you can count on them to get you where you want to go in a timely fashion.

I don't care for them. We stayed for a week recently and used the *buses* more than we ever have and I still don't like them. I would much, much rather drive to all the parks, except MK, and sometimes we drive there too.

No. We park our car at the resort and let Disney do the driving. But you aren't alone. The resort parking lots are probably half filled with rentals. A lot of these are probably going to the parks every day. Whatever floats your boat. Or gets your motor running. Or whatever.

I'll admit, I'm a bit biased. I like the buses. Before I became a CM, I always drove from the resort to the parks. When I was a CM and wasn't working but staying on site, I started taking the bus. Now many times it was because I knew the driver and could chat with him/her. Now that I don't work there any more, we mixed bus with driving and more often than not, just take the bus.

It's many times easier and usually doesn't take any more time. The only place I would drive with any regularity was DTD but until the construction is completed, I will take the bus.

I'm not crazy about riding them but I don't like riding any buses. Having said that, I'm so grateful they are there and use them. I drive down, park my car and don't see it again until I leave.

I only ride busses in WDW...never an issue...beats driving. Some drivers are a but heavy with the brake pedal. But just enjoy the ride!

HATE using the buses. We try to budget for a rental car whenever possible, even if it's a small car, regardless of where we stay. I will say, the buses themselves are fine, clean, etc., but there is too little seating and too many people jammed in as standees for my liking, and the STANDING and WAITING. Makes me crazy. My sister and I timed it once when we were sharing a room at POP. We left MK at closing, she headed for the bus lines, and I headed for the monorail. I was back in the room at POP and showered before she finally hauled her weary self through the door. Even if we'd arrived at the same time, I would have been the happier camper, having spent the majority of the transit time sitting down, resting my feet, in the relative peacefulness of my climate controlled vehicle, rather than standing in line, standing on the bus, listening to the over-tired kids, freezing in the cranking a/c, and then having to walk from the bus stop to my room.

Glad folks like the buses, but I'll choose my own vehicle every time!

We had to use the buses a lot on our last trip bc the monorail was down for the first 3 days of our trip. At first I was really disappointed bc thats y u pay for a monorail resort so you can USE the monorail, lol. Then I got use to it. The buses are very good, and I never had to wait more that 5 minutes for a bus. The only thing that went wrong was when we had an early ADR to Epcot and the monorail was still down and I called the concierge and they told me their would be a bus leaving from the Grand at a certain time to go to Epcot and when I got to the bus station there was no bus to Epcot that morning. The bus driver that pulled in actually made a special stop after his Magic Kingdom stop for Epcot just for me and I was worried about missing our ADR time but we got there just in time. I actually love the buses and will have no problem using them in the future.

They only suck to DTD.

I like the buses (and the boats). I do not take public transit, but use it when traveling so figure I have at least something to compare it too. WDW beats any of them on friendly bus drivers. (however Chicago had the best overall public transit I have ever used)

I like being able to sit back and watch the scenery and every once in a while I have a great conversation with other visitors.

Even better I love listening, to the background music/spiel, to the families excited about what they did/going to do, and I often use that time to call my mom who loves to hear Disney in the background when I'm on a trip or to post a few pictures to social media for my friends/family who like to see what I'm up too.
