Is it just me, or is the pre-show for Honey I Shrunk the Audience at Epcot way too long???

I have only done the attraction a couple of times, and do not remember it being this long! I was very angry, that they pack hundreds of people inside a hot, room, shoulder to shoulder, and make you STAND there for watching a 10 minute long commercial for Kodak!

I'm all for sponsorship of attractions :3dglasses , but that was a little overboard!

Isn't part of the reason for the pre-show is to give people something to do (watch) while waiting for the real show?

Yes, but does it HAVE to be a 10 minute long commercial???

There must be a better way to do it.

The preshows for all other attractions are shorter, or at least seem shorter. The other 3D movie preshows aren't that bad... there's nothing for Philharmagic, and the preshow for Muppet Vision 3D isn't nearly as long. I don't remember "It's tough to be a bug" but I don't remember a preshow in a hot enclosed space, where you have to stand so close to other people for so long.

It's either that or nothing, because you can't enter until the theater clears from the last show. They are just giving you something to look at while you are waiting. I could see being upset if you had to wait while the theater is sitting empty but that's not the case. The other alternative would be to wait outside but that would not be practical with the weather most of the year. It's similiar to Little Mermaid or Philharmagic, where you are in a crowded room waiting for the next show.

I'm sure Kodak is paying Disney to show that "commercial". Look what happened to Wonders of Life when they lost their sponsorship (it's closed).

I find the wait at its tough to be a bug to be much worse. You are inside, just standing in a crowd, waiting to enter the theater. No entertainment, no 'commercial', just a crowd of people with no real idea of when you will get to enter.

I guess it's all right. At least there's something to look at while waiting to be seated. I actually liked the old 'commercial' type video they showed before the whole Kodak thing. They played the song 'True Colors,' it's such a nice song. :]

But I love the part where Nigel (I forgot his name ..) says something like this: Please put on your safety goggles when you're safely seated in the safe the theatre, safely. ;] It is hilarious!

I don't know if when you went the a/c wasn't working well or maybe it was incredibly crowded, but everytime i've gone it's been very tolerable. As far as the "10 minute Kodak Commercial", sure it's a commercial but I personally REALLY like it!!

Actually, there is pre-show entertainment in ITTBAB, but it's audio only, and the crowds there have gotten so loud and uncontrolled lately that you can no longer hear it. :sad1:

While I understand why they have the preshows, I find as I get older that I have a lot of trouble standing in one spot for so long. By the time I get inside, my back and feet are killing me. I would think this would apply to many of us not so young kids. If I could move around or sit down, it wouldn't be bad.

As corny as it sounds, I used to love that video and song. It was one of my favorite things at EPCOT.
I hate the new commercial... so yes, it is way too long!

The reason for the long pre-show is also to mask the noise from the theater for the people waiting. Otherwise you'd basically be hearing the same show twice, and watching it once.

I wish they still had the "True Colors" Kodak commercial (or as my friends and I call it- "All hail lord Kodak") instead of the new one. I thought it was cuter

I wish they would install some long benches to sit on while in the pre shows. There is a lot of standing and of course walking at the parks and a little extra sitting would be appreciated. There obviously is a need for it since so many people flop on the floor during the pre shows.

I'd almost rather stay in a line rather than in a herd.

My dh and I felt the same as you. We were very annoyed. It is nice to have something to do while you are waiting but that was a little much.

I despise that True COlors music video....I'd rather see a themed movie about the attraction.

Basically, the preshow makes me want to kill myself.

Reason one: You have to stand!?! Um, hello? Im tired. I always try to sit down, but then they want to pack more sweaty people so they make me get up and move. Boo.

Reason two: It's the corniest piece of film I have EVER seen. Though, I can agree that the newest version puts me in much less agony than the last one.

Reason three: Its TEN minutes long! With my short attention span you'd be lucky for me to pay attention to three minutes of that horrilble video.

The ONLY positive thing I can say about the preshow is that the new one does not play the True Colors song. Correct? Thats the part that put me in the more amount of pain.

Basically I think the preshow is excrutiating. :badpc:

Boy am I out of sync with several posters. True Colors was one of the few things that brought tears to my eyes at WDW. The new pre-show, not so much.

I HATE having to stand there in a crowd. If I could sit it would be better. As someone said standing in line would be better. I think because standing in line you could lean on something.

I love the Muppet Preshow because its entertaining and funny and has something to do with the show you are about to see. You can also go down front and sit your weary behind down.
