Does anyone else still call them PS instead of ADR?

When I was a Disney Newbie 6 years ago the now ADR's were referred to as "Priority Seating" and in my head they will always be a PS - in fact I can't tell you how many post I've had to edit to change the PS to an ADR. :)

I still do. I think it's more accurate because they do make it quite clear that it is only a priority seating and not a reservation. I think if people see it as a reservation, they assume they will be seated at the time given to them. Although they try to seat you close to your PS time, it is generally the first available seating for your party size and hence is more in line with PS.

My two cents worth.

I'm with you Amanda. To me they are and always will be PS's. I don't get why they are called ADR's. Why not just Reservations?

i think that Priority Seating better fits the name anyways. As long as you are talking to someone who knows DIS for a while, they will still know what you are referring to.;)

Well if I could walk up and get a table at LC, even if I had to wait til the very end I'd call them priority seatings, but seeing as they wont take walkups, like it or not, IMO that's a reservation.

Yep, I still call it "making a PS"........

then again I still call it the WedWay Peoplemover too....or Wedway for short.

There was a thread here that seemed to point out that the official Disney term is now just "reservations." Although they're still not technically reservations, except for the pay-in-advance or credit card guarantee ones.

Based on discussions with several Dining Reservation CMs last year (several = at least one call per week for 24 weeks + at least one call per day for the last two weeks before arrival :teeth: ), they are indeed called simply 'reservations'.
Really, it's what do you call it - Call Ahead Seating, the Extreme Version.

I still call them PS but then again I still call Dixey Landing :rotfl: just that, I don't even know the new name of it. LOL Can ya tell I hate change no matter what it is. :rotfl: what does ADR mean anyways?

My sister and I always have and always will refer to them as
"the P to S's". It is a reference to the 1961 version of "The Parent Trap".
:rotfl: :rotfl:

I believe it means Advance Dining Reservations - I refer to it as a PITA since the dang dining plans got so popular.

Took me a few months to get used to us, but now it's ADR. However, DH did ask me to get a priority seating at a local restaurant by us the other day. :rotfl:

I've ranted on this before, and refused to use the term ADR simply because the name, "Advanced Dining Reservations" is stupid.
All Reservations everywhere are made in Advance. You don't make reservations after an event, or show up at a door to be seated and ask if you can make a reservation to be seated right now. :teacher:
As I've mentioned, this term probably came from the WDW Department of Redundancy Department.

And, btw, while I'm on a rant, I hate the term 'ressies."

Thank you.

:lmao: They'll always be "the P to S's" to me, girlie!

I shant tell my aunt about the aunts, er, ants nor the debutantes.

Probably the same people that came up with the marketing script for FastPass "Only available to Disney Park Guest" which would mean - EVERYONE IN THE PARK!!!! LOL!

:thumbsup2 I agree with the whole post - but highlighted my favorite point.

I actually considered starting a thread "Appies and Ressies and Trippies" Annoying or cute?
