Does anyone else skip WalMart & Target on BF?

Last year I was SO, SO disappointed in them both. I got there near opening time (no, I won't wait hours beforehand until they open the doors) and I could tell they had so many "teaser" toy ads, like on the LeapPad sets. I could see the spaces where the items I wanted were once on the shelves, but you could tell they hardly had any stock.

I went to Kohl's next and it was SO much better because Kohl's was actually re-stocking the hot items, even a few hours after opening. So, even though there seem to be some good deals (like $10 Cabbage Patch Babies at WM), I am wondering if it is worth it to even try again this year if they have like 20 of each hot item in stock?

I can tell you that I've NEVER EVER gone out early on Black Friday ANYWHERE.

I am this year to Target to get that darn Gameboy Advance bundle - I was thinking last night - I wonder how many will be available??? I'd hate to get up early and wait in line for one thing they only have 2 of :rotfl:

I don't do BF sales but had to go to our Super Target last year for groceries so cruised through the electronics and was surprised to find a lot of sale items still available. I don't know if they restocked or not but sure beats getting up early!

I got one of those LeapPad bundles (LeapPad and 2 books for $20) at WalMart last year and WalMart was not even my first stop- they had tons of them left. Target didn't have door busters last year so I skipped that altogether.

I was just wondering this same thing! Target has some good PS2 games and that Fur Real Puppy but I just can't really go for the whole get up at 5 and then stand in the cold and then they don't even have it by the time I get to that spot. Do they actually have a lot of this stuff?

I worked at a toy store two years and the first year, we only got in one box of something that was supposed to be a HOT sale item. We were out within 15 min of opening. Man were people mad. And I couldn't blame them. It was dumb.

that especially in the toys, their start price is so high that 50% off isn't that great. I know they have good deals on other things though and you get the $10 off. Just make sure you're really getting a deal on the toys. The items I want are higher there.

I didnt even venture near there but ordered the same thing online for the same price and .97 shipping. It beat fighting the crowds there. I didnt go to target last year but had gone the previous years. I think I may just stick at the mall and see what the disneystore, sears and penneys has going on..

I'll do the MK on the 4th of July......but I won't go near a store on BF. :flower:

I have always had terrific luck with Target on Black Friday. They have lots of stock and if they are out, will get more. they also have every check stand open.

the only year that I have seen limited stock was the year they had the Pokemon games for gameboys.....they handed out vouchers while you were in line.

I liie Kohl's, too, but as someone mentioned, they are very overpriced. But, if you get it for 50% off, and then are accumulating towards $10 free for every $50 you spend, it's okay.

Target does have some items I want this year, as do some other stores. I will start at Kohl's, move to Target, and probably hit Big 5, Radio Shack and some others.

I don't care if I don't get alot.......I already have alot of shopping done........my girlfriends and I have lots of fun, regardless of what I buy.

I think they torture us on purpose. I have no intention of letting them do it ever again. It goes on sale at some time in the future and thats when my kids and I will get it.

I'm scared of Walmart until at least an hour after they open! Then it's safe. I used to always start at Target. Very civil there! But... they haven't had anything good for me last year or this year.

That's almost not funny!! My best friend is a police officer, and they argue in the department every year about who has to take the Walmart assignment on BF!! This year she is off, so we will be shopping-- but not at WM
