I consider myself an intelligent person, and I hate to make mistakes when writing. I try to be especially careful when writing notes and sending emails to teachers, or other professional people. I figure they'd be the first ones to pick up on mistakes. Really, though, it doesn't matter who is on the receiving end. It's still going to bother me.
Anyway, after sending an email, it may hit me that I made some stupid mistake. It then drives me crazy knowing that I made the mistake, but it's too late to do anything about it. It really bothers me, and I know I spend too much time worrying over what the other person must think.
Anyone else do this, or is it just my problem? Am I worrying too much? Go ahead and be honest. I can take it.
Here's a recent example: I sent an email to a teacher last week, (yes, I'm still thinking about it
), and I typed "...sad over the riff...", when I meant, "...sad over the rift..."
