Does Anyone Else Obsess Over What Their Kids Where at the World?

Well, let me put it this way: My daughter had a different princess dress to wear each day. Along with the princess dresses she had to have the corresponding princess shirt. The underwear had to also match which princess she was that day. And on top of it all, her shorts had to look good with each shirt. And she had to have comfortable princess shoes to wear.(she just wore the same princess pair each day. There was Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White on them) Not to mention that if I put anything in her hair the color had to match the dress.;)

Of course do not forget a hoodie with all the princesses on it and a blanket with the princesses. I had to buy a big suitcase just for her clothes because the little princess suitcase that matched her backpacks,(yes 2) pencil case and lunch container wasn't big enough. :rotfl: Oh yeah, the hoodie has the princesses in the same outfits that are on the bags. Is it worth it? Heck yeah!

And yes, I am like this at home too. Socks, underwear and shirt have to be in the same color. :rolleyes1 The sad thing is is that my DD now just does this all when she dresses herself. I have created a monster :rotfl:

Do I obsess???? that is my favorit word!!! So of course I am out of control with my 3 DD's. So much so that I just realized, that I can not buy one more thing until July9 or I will not have enough money for Disney:scared1:

Now that was a wake-up call!

I have all 15 complete matching sets for our trip in August all new! :rolleyes1

I have the bows and shoes, nail stuff (disney stickers for nails/jewels)

I am out of control!!!!

For my kids, I packed a bunch of parks and rec tshirts (from all of the activities they get shirts for, which is a bunch), and they wore the same colors, and then I threw them out (this was for the 3 younger kids - my 2 older kids wore whatever). When you have 5 children, you reach the point when you only care that they can dress themselves, and pick out their own clothes. Doesn't matter if they match, dress appropriate to the season, or even if the clothes fit - we go with the flow! :thumbsup2

Its tough for the girls who are turning into tweens. They still want to dress CUTE but not princess like. We are having 3 costumes made but not princess.
1. Drizzila ballgown complete with hoop skirt
2. Alice
3. Tink
The tink one is a one of a kind creation my friend and I came up with. She wanted to wear the costume IN the park but it will be July. She also has super sensitive skin and can't do the tulle that is on most princess costumes.
We also never liked the lime green the Disney Store uses on tink ... sooo we are going with a forest green satin. It will have pedals in the skirt and will be VERY simple... a lot like Tinks dress BUT a heck of a lot longer and with a waist. Then we are adding a little gold ribbon on the waist and adding little gold bells to each pedal...so she will tinkle when she moves (well that doesn't sound so cute does it ..tinkle when she walks :lmao: you know what I mean!)

The step sister dress is going to be worn for our 1900 parkfare dinner. I am REALLY excited!!!!

we also had a RNR dress made, an EE dress made and the TT dress I already posted...complete with bows and matching knit shorts for modesty. :lmao:

I am terrible! I did have a fun shirt made for myself that I will be wearing at the 1900 parkfare dinner. It's a large applique of the stepmother and on top is says "World's Greatest Mom" :lmao:

Hi there, no we do not sell on the DIS- is is against DIS rules. Although there are many who do sell on etsy or ebay that also make clothes for their kids. Just look at the siggys when you see clothes you like-you will see something like
Etsy ID janesboutique
Ebay ID janesboutique for example. If you dont, odds are they dont sell.
The Disboutique thread is there for us crazy ladies who sew, and sew and sew- regardless of if we have a trip coming up, anything is up for discussion- quilts, handbags, kids clothes, disney customs, crafts, cooking, its a really fun thread and if you hang around you will get to know everyone.
Everyone is really friendly- I have been a part of the board for more than a year and I love it- we are community within a community.

OH- and if you need ideas- you can check out our photobucket account (link is on the first page of our thread) You can see all the stuff we make (for those of us who remember to post them)
If you see something you plan to make, or have made and you are copying it, we ask that you ask first if thats okay. Typically if its for your own use the answer is yes.

C'mon over! by the way, just today we had someone post some adorable boys custom (t and jean shorts with disney characters on 'em)

Okay I'm looking through the thread! :goodvibes It's LONG!! Hoping I see some things I like. :) Oh and I can NOT sew so I wouldn't even attempt anything. :rotfl:

I completely understand where you're coming from. ;) Here's what my kids wore during our trip!

You should go visit the boutique board. They'll feed your obsession. ;)

Your DD is gorgeous - I love those outfits!

I totally obsessed for months before our trip last July....

I needed them to coordinate....and coordinate with the park, meal or something important (4th of july)

I had 7 outfits, one for each day...plus thay got Princess shirts for the flight there and home.....
My mom made them princess sundresses for Princess Breakfast...I could figure out how to post pictures I'd show ya!

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I can't resist. It bothers me when I see these girls all dressed up in their princess dresses in 100 degree weather at Disney. I feel so bad for them, it must be so hot in all those ruffles and satiny material. I do believe however that the kids probably insist on wearing them, but if they were my children I would make them change at some point into tank tops and shorts.

That's why I did this:

I embellished a Tshirt and skort. Huge hit with all the CM's.

CUTE IDEA~

I do customs for the exact reason that was mentioned..
My daughter would RATHER a cool cotton sundress than shorts and a shirt. I don't do all the fru fru lace and tulle on her dresses. Super simple and super cool in the heat!

You have got to post the sterpmother shirt. I have been searching forever for matching outfits for my daughter and I to wear to Park Fare. She is 9 and wants something stepsister related. Where did you get the stepmother shirt?

I sent you a pm just in case I am not allowed to list sellers on here... I am not really sure of the rules concerning this :hippie:

Ooh if you could PM me about the ride-specific close? My 9yo has never particularly been "princess-y" (She might do pirates league, lol) so she would LOVE this stuff! I've tried searching Etsy but I'm not having any luck.

Just subbing...

I love making customs for my DD. She loves it too, she is at the age now where she will help me design, she tells me what she likes and what she doesn't. She loves wearing something that no one else is wearing.

We are heading down for my birthday this year and I will be making some custom t's for me and probably DH as well. I look forward to planning DD's wardrobe for our trip, so does she, and I'm really looking forward to making something for myself as well.

Oh man. I took a change of clothes for DD so she could change out of her princess dress but the very mention of changing sent her into hysterics! :scared1: Sometimes it's not worth making them to change. We are in Disney. She's happy and excited to be dressed as Cinderella. No need to ruin the magic.

We also don't go during the hotest time of year. In March when we went it was still nice and breezy and cool.
