I used to go to bed at around 9 and get up at around 6 AM. Recently, I've started going to bed at around 7 PM and getting up at around 12 or 1 for a couple of hours and then going back to bed until like 7:30 AM. Last night, I went to bed at 8, got up this morning at 2 and am still up and not really planning to go to bed.

Well here I am at 4 in the morning on the DIS!
Ever since I became pg, I haven't slept a full 8 hrs. I'm either waking up to go to the bathroom or to eat.
This morning, my baby wants a bowl of cereal at 4am! :p

I'm also here at 4-something in the morning. Sure wish I knew why!

Looking forward to a mid-day nap.

Same thing here go to bed at 9pm get up at 3am. Go to bed at 1am wake up at 4am. I think its from delivering papers when I was a kid. Even on vacation I only get about 6 hours a night,
but I get the hot tub all to myself at the WL. When I'm home I get to lurk the DIS in peace.

The big problem is that I don't know how I'm going to deal with it starting next week because I have class until 8:15 at night on Wednesday, 8:50 at night on Thursday, and 9:40 at night on Tuesday. Of my 6 classes, I only have one that starts before noon (I did do the afternoon/night classes thing on purpose but my sleep patterns weren't so weird at the time.....this started about a month ago after Roger called me at 2:45 one morning to see if he could come over and watch a movie.)

My usual routine has been off to bed between 10PM and 11PM, wake up at around 7AM.

For the past few months, I have kept my normal bedtime, but I wake up every night at 3AM, and stay awake for half an hour to an hour (I just lay there trying to go make to sleep), and then wake up for the day between 6-6:30AM. The change is definately strange to me.

My biggest problem is finding a way to go to sleep. I could go to bed at 10, but I wouldn't fall asleep until 4-5.

I have always had insomnia of some sort, but it seems the older I get the worse I get. Some times I am just so tired I don't know why my body doesn't just give up and sleep!

:bounce::wave::bounce:

i have had problems sleeping ever since i was a teenager. usually i get about 5-6 hours/night. some nights i really just can't go to sleep though.

I don't have that problem, I go to bed and I don't think I toss once and I'm already sleeping unless I'm sick, and I don't wake up at night either unless someone or something wakes me up ( like dh snoring ) or the kids sick.
I have always been a good sleeper.
My problem is staying awake sometimes....I wish I could go to bed at 7 pm with the kids, LOL.

So does anybody have any suggestions about how to handle this once my classes start and I can't go to bed at 7?

Just wait. It gets even better. ;) Jacob has decided that it's most fun to eat a lot from 9 pm until about 6 am and then sleep during the day. We can't really afford to start training him to adjust his schedule since he's a preemie and has to work to get enough to eat. I just woke up from a good nap and will continue to nap throughout the day.

I have strange patterns, but not quite like that.

I typically get to bed between 10:30 and 12:30. But, I like to read in bed, so it's a *very* rare night when I actually turn out the light before 12:30.

I typically wake up about once at 2am and quickly check on the kitties (as long as I'm awake). Then again about 4, and again about 6, and finally when the alarm goes off I get up about 8 or 8:30.

I was taking some medication to help me actually sleep through the night or at least not wake up quite so often, but I had to stop taking it for my fire-ant testing. Now that I've finished that testing, I can get back on the medicine again. It'll take a couple of weeks for it to fully kick in again, but once it does, it tends to make a huge difference for me.

Becki -- Other than some caffiene before class, I don't know of anything to help you, sorry. :( Good luck!
