Does anyone else have an annoying neighbor?!!

We moved into a new home and new neighborhood, all new homes. Our one neighbor came over with a welcoming gift, and they seemed very nice. Then all of a sudden they just stopped talking to us for no reason. My dh and I are bafefulled! So no problem, we just ignor them the same. Strange

My neighbor cut my Lilac Tree, I wish he would of left it alone until it was done blooming.

He put a new garage up a few years ago, and found out where existing lot lines were. I own everything along our lot lines. My Lilac Tree, one of 3, sort of touched his garage, he just went out there and sawed and hacked it off.

I have a Rose Bush also, that is suppose to be left alone. It grows around a 4 foot arch. Nope, he cuts that back every year too.

If he chops my 3rd Lilac Tree, then there will be war.

These stories are why we try to stick to ourselves in our cul-de-sac. We have some real bad ones and some pretty nice people in the neighborhood but I don't want anyone knowing my business around here. I met my next door neighbors when their son hit a ball through three double pane casement windows on our second floor - they didn't offer to pay, just knocked (without son) to tell us it happened  IT COST A TON. We dropped the bill off to them and they never paid a thing. They also do nothing to their house so its an eyesore. I have a dog situation too - all morning long every morning that thing barks and barks.

My next door neighbors built their house about 10 yrs ago. Its a couple about 60 and one daughter 30. We always got along fine until last summer. The daughter is a herion addict and has been for years. Been in and out of rehab and jail many times. The parents go away for about a month every summer back to Greece. One day this past August as my DH was leaving for work he sees their car at end of driveway near the road. As he backs out he sees something in the car, gets out and its the daughter appearing to be passed out. He opens the door to try to wake her sees blood all over the seat. Then he sees she cut her wrist. Neighbor from across the street was leaving DH flagged him down told him to call 911, she wasn't responding. Ambulance gets there she wakes up and starts cursing DH for calling the cops on her. They take her to the hospital and cops impound the car. Next night we see her home, she sees us runs in the house. Two days later the parents are back from Greece. DH sees the father says hello, father turns his head and walks away. Next day I'm backing out of the driveway and see the mother getting the mail, I roll down the window and say hello, she looks at me puts her head down and walks away. Even to this day if we happen to both get home at the same time they will sit in their car until we go in the house.

he can legally cut anything sticking over the property line on his side

We have 2 great neighbors.

The one directly across the street is a single man and his bad 6th grader son. His yard is full of old rusty appliances and tons of cars and other junk. It was a beautiful open field until he and his aqua trailer moved in.

Last August our 98 year old neighbor went into a nursing home. Her home was sold to a family with an 8th grade daughter and a 6th grade son and their always kept outside dogs.
These new neighbors think it's fun to sit around on the ground chewing tobacco, roasting weenies, drinking beer with about 30 of their tobacco spitting friends and firing guns. There is no ordinance on shooting these guns as long as there aren't real bullets in them. They are loud, obnoxious and a nightmare.

Our street went from being a quiet street with well maintained homes to being Hillbilly Central.

I have the king of annoying neighbors. We live in a large 3 family home. We are the third floor. Our first floor neighbors we rarely see, but they are messy and never take in the trash barrels (in fact the only one who ever takes out the trash or recycling is my DBF  ) and they always flick cigarette butts on the sidewalk by the house which annoys me because they have 2 small kids.

But our second floor neighbor is SO annoying. He always comes upstairs / calls / etc. and DBF likes him (somewhat; in other words, he's not trying to be his friend, but doesn't want to be rude) so he doesn't really say anything. I just can't stand him. He's sleazy, he's a blatant , compulsive liar, he's loud, and he just rubs me the wrong way.

Unfortunately, we like OUR unit in the apartment and we love that we have a huge fenced in yard for our dog, nice garage and storage areas and a very low rent for MA.

We're also in a quiet neighborhood. The landlord is so-so. But at least he's nice. so we won't be leaving any time soon.

But the other tenants, oh I'd be so happy to see them go and have decent people move in.

I have lived in my current house for exactly 2 years, very nice area. Our neighbors are mix and match (all of us having our own problems with each other). We have a problem with our neighbors property on our left because they have six huge Magnolia trees within 50 feet of our property line (closest tree is just 3 feet away). We have cut the branches off that crossed our property because they hit our new roof. We have been having problems with growing plants in our front yard as one inch under the soil are huge tree roots running across our lawn. We are still attemtping to see what type of bushes we can plant.

The house on our right is a rental home. Since we have lived here, 3 people have lived in that house, first two were great neighbors, current group are horrid. The family that moved into the house (3 months now) are husband, wife and 4 children (3 boys, one girl). They think our back yard is their trash bin and we are thinking that next items thrown over will go back with notes (becoming more than annoying). We have a 6 foot fence which they continue to kick their soccer ball over. We keep our gates locked because we have large dogs and don't want them to come in when the dogs are out, they send the smallest child over the fence to retrieve the balls, then he has to unlock the gate but doesn't close it so our dogs get loose. So we installed new lock and last time find ball in yard well lets just say it had dog poop all over it when it was back in their yard. I feel like someone above as these kids know when I am home. They wait till I get home come out and climb the tree out front (poor skinny tree looks like it is 10 years old and has 3 boys hanging from it). We also have adopted to stray somewhat ferrell cats. We managed to capture them and had them fixed so couldn't have any kittens. These cats (after 5 years) let us touch/pet them for a bit (10 minutes on a good night) but runs from everyone else. The two youngest boys chase these cats at every given opportunity (can't put cats in home due to dogs adn the fact that they are farrell cats - they sleep in a crate we have for them in our backyard). We have asked them to stop but they haven't. They even told our neighbor that when they get them (cats) they are going to hit them in the head with a hammer. God help them when they do. The neighbor that they mentioned that too is also having major problems with the youngest two boys as they have shot his dog with a bebe gun and through a window in his garage. They also have banged up his car with their basketball. The parents are always in the house. The neighbor spoke with them a few days ago so everytime the kids see us or other neighbor they run inside so now all the crap happens at the home when we are away instead of parents learning to supervise their children. Needless to say, we don't look forward to enjoying the summer.

We are quiet people and just want to be left alone. We don't have children, we don't leave our dogs out long to bark at all hours of the night and in general we don't cause anyone any problems. Why can't others have the same courtesy!

Our next-door neighbors are EXTREMELY religious. This is not a problem- everyone is entitled to their beliefs. However, this past year they changed churches and started going to one that is kinda extreme. All of a sudden, they pull their kids out of school and start homeschooling them. The wife stopped wearing pants and having her hair cut. The husband sits out on the porch with his Bible and tries to "save" us whenever we are outside at the same time. At Halloween, which they call Satanween, , they set up a booth in their front yard WITH A LOUDSPEAKER denouncing the trick-or-treaters. Noone would ring our doorbell!!! And to cap it all off, they erected a 10 foot tall cross in their backyard! It looks like the KKK will be by any minute to light it up. Yikes!!!

And before I hear from the Homeschoolers out there, I have no problem with that. But, the parents aren't educated themselves, and I worry about what the kids are learning- or not learning. They seem to not place any value on education at all. The kids will have a hard time in the future with the education they are getting now.

I actually feel sorry for my one set of neighbors. They are 2 orphan boys. We knew their parents really well and then when their ds were like 17 and 15 their father died tragically in an eleavtor accident. (he was the repairman), then less than 3 years later the mom died of lung cancer, so there were kids like almost 18 and 20 and no parents owning a home. Well they must have gotten some insurance money because they did vinyl side and house and put in new windows etc. They really do nothing to take care of the house. They have a landscaper to cut the grass, but alot of times the garbage just piles up. My DH wanted to go take their garbage out secretely during the night. The younger son was turning to alcohol alot. Alot of bottles were on our lawn. It really annoyed us because we dont share those values and didnt want people to think it was us. When I clean our yard I do put their bottles etc. into a pile on their side of the property line. They also had a dog who they just would throw outside. It was a friendly dog that was so starved for affection. She would come into our yard for attention. Everyone around here just keeps to themsevles, so its o.k. You generally see people in the summer working on their lawns etc. Everyone here is so busy with life there isnt time for friendships and most people around here are paranoid anyway. As long as no one makes trouble, we are all a happy bunch of campers.
