Does anyone else feel that they just can't vote for any candidate this year?

No, I don't feel that way at all. I did feel like that in '96; couldn't stand Pres. Clinton, and yet I thought Dole was lukewarm at best.

I was going to vote for Kerry, but have changed my mind since he picked Edwards. Edwards is a slimy trial lawyer, who has put many OBs out of practice. One of the reasons our health care has risen dramatically is due to exhorbitant malpractice premiums. The reason for this is ridiculous judgements in cases with attorneys such as Edwards. Many times, there is no scientific proof of negligence or malpractice, but juries only see extremely tragic stories. These juries then, award millions and millions of dollars, without a shred of evidence. just because they believe these poor people should get something. And guess who gets 60% of the judgement. The all-compassionate lawyers!!!!!
Patients should NEVER lose their ability and right to sue for malpractice. This is the best way to get rid of bad physicians. But, pain and suffering amounts must be capped, or all us health professionals someday soon will not be able to afford to stay in practice. With Sen. Edwards and his crew, this will never happen and our health ststem will never be able to be fixed.

One more thought on Edwards. He very often tells us about his humble beginnings and how he was able to become a successful attorney. For this he should be commended. But how from this poor beginning was he able to accumulate $80 million of net worth. On the memory and suffering of cerebral palsy victims. Who. I ask, is abusing their circumstance now?

I don't know what it is about Kerry/Edwards, but when they speak I see those slimey "preacher type" people. You know the ones that can heal you if you only send them $$$. I don't know what it is. Actually with that impression I get a chuckle every time I see them.

I'm not particularly wild about either Kerry/Edwards or Bush/Cheney. I tend to fall more towards the conservative side of the spectrum (at least economically). I couldn't bring myself to vote for Kerry, so I don't know. Maybe I'll write myself in ;)

Every time I have voted since the day I was able to vote I have always felt like I was choosing between the lesser of two evils.

I can't understand how anyone can get completely and utterly absorbed in the election campaign of any politician. And yet, people do.

My personal opinion is that they are self-serving first, and then will maybe think about what thier constituents want as long as it doesn't negatively affect their own personal situation. Most of them are dishonest, if not criminal.

We have spent hours and hours here on the DIS arguing back and forth the merits of Bush vs. Kerry, with all of us thinking our opinions are the right ones, and our candidates are the right ones. Kerry is for "middle America"...right...a guy whose wife is a billionaire and has like 4 houses has any idea about what it's like to be in middle America and actually have to work for a living or worry about where he's going to get the money topay this bill or that bill. Bush is for the little guy...right...a guy who's a millionaire himself, has been surrounded by politics all his life, has any idea what it's like to be the little guy.

It's a joke they play on the American public every 4 years. I'll go to the polls again this year and exercise my right to vote for who I think iss the lesser of 2 evils because many years ago a bunch of women fought for my right to do so. But I don't think for a minute that either candidate is going to represent my interests.

Funny you should say that. I totally feel the SAME way!

I have to say, I'm not a huge political saavy type of person, and I don't normally even post on political threads, but this is exactly how I feel. I'm so undecided right now, I don't know what to do.

I feel the same way. Of the two, I prefer Bush, but I don't like some of the things he's been doing recently, either.

I don't know. Maybe I'll just stay home this year since I'm not really big on either one.
