Does anyone else feel sad when they leave?

Ditto to all posters!!! Leaving the World is soooo sad!!!! We are arriving in six days for a 10-day trip!!! My Mom is going with us for the first five days and then she is renting a car to drive home...I feel bad for her as she is going to be leaving us there....I know she will be so sad!!! Funny thing is...she and my sister could not believe how much we went to Disney and then over the past few years they have gone with us and now they are feeling the Magic too!!!

Last night my mom and dad were over and and my mom was saying, "this time next week where will we be?"

One of our traditions is seeing who reaches the World first...I always lean forward to be the first one HOME!!! We always call my sister or mom and scream on the cell..."WE'RE HOME!!!!!"

Now my Dad....he does not wish to come all the time...but he even had some magic one year when they met us down there to celebrate his 60th bday...and now that the trip is getting close, I actually think that he is sad he did not plan to come with us...

I am so sick the day I leave Disney that the only thing I can eat is biscuits and gravy from Cracker Barrel. They are yummy and you don't need ressies.

Are you kidding? It's one of the saddest moments I can think of. The whole WDW thing is a series of events, from the planning stages, to arrival, and the inevitable departure, it's a rollercoaster of emotions. I love every one of them, except the departure thing, it's no fun at all.

We just returned from WDW and it was by far the saddest goodbye yet. My 7 yr old DD cried our entire boat ride from MK to Wl on our final night there. Then my 4yr old DD refused to leave in the morning, she said she wanted to stay at Wl forever. lol We were all tearing up when we left even my DH was sad to go.

Thank you all so much for posting! I feel so much better. I am soooo sad when it's time to leave. I never want to go to bed on our last night, because if I don't go to bed, I don't have to wake up and leave, right? Weird thinking, I know. We've been going every few months with our AP's, but this May was our last trip until next year so we can save up enough for a two week stay. All I could think of that last day was, "How am I going to wait over a year to come back?" Walking out of the park and looking over to see my now in middle school aged son trying to hide the big tears rolling down his cheeks broke my heart!!!
I try to tell myself how lucky we are to go as often as we do. So people never get to go, but it still hurts to leave.

I cry every time. It's very depressing. It's also depressing just thinking that one month ago I was in the Happiest Place on Earth, now I'm back in NJ, back to work . . . :sad2: :sad1: :sad2: It's so very depressing.

Did I say how depressing it is to leave??? :guilty:

OMGosh departure day has got to be the WORST feeling- I have cried right alongside my daughters when we have to leave! But... the feeling you get when you see the welcome gates is a high like no other! :earboy2:

I love that line... "the circle of vacation!" I just finished our "itinerary" for our trip next month, and when I was typing up the last days info. along with return flight stuff i was seriously choking back the tears... Just the thought of the last day! Sooooo.... if any of you are there on the 17th of July and you see a grown woman sobbing when Tinkerbelle flies out of the castle at the begining of wishes... just give me a wink, it's nice to know I am not alone.... ;)

Raises hand. I agree with many others as well... the only cure is planning the next trip. I think we were home two weeks this time and I already made the deposit for the next cruise. :rotfl: Which isn't funny because I could have saved money booking it onboard. pirate: However, DH gets annoyed when I start making plans for the next trip BEFORE the current one is over. He'll say "We haven't even left from this one yet and your already talking about next time!" It's my defense mechanism. If I am already planning for next time then there WILL BE a next time and then it's not goodbye but see you later. :hourglass We also drive and leave early in the morning. Usually when it's still dark outside and that way I can shed some peaceful tears. The night before we leave I am so jealous of those that are just getting in. Not Fair! Then I have to remind myself that someone was leaving the day we arrived and so we must all have our time... you know the Circle of Vacation. We must all arrive, enjoy, leave and then return soon!

OMG! Please tell me I'm not the only one that cries during wishes. I purchased the CD and everytime I listen I choke back tears. Perhaps because it takes me back to such happy memories of Disney. I agree though... Wishes for your last time... be sure you have a tissue in your pocket ;)

PS... we even have a cat named Wishes also.

DS was in tears yesterday in the van on our way to the Amtrak station. He was hugging the giant Mickey that was in the van and trying to hide his face. It would have been so easy for me to break down then too. Of course, I had tears in my eyes while we were watching Wishes.

Oh my goodness!!! I cry when we arrive (Glad to return) and cry when we leave (sad it is over). Anyone that admits they are not sad is not fooling me. There is no possible way anyone can go to Disney and not be sad to leave. NO WAY!!!

I didn't read your post before replying but I do the same thing. Maybe we need to have a support group....Wishes Anonomous. :)

It's especially bad when I watch the weather channel. Once the forecast extends beyond our trip, I get so bummed.

OMG, I do the Weather Channel thing too. I'll watch the channel in my resort and look at the forecast for the days where I'll be back in Ohio and get myself upset!:teeth: What's up with that? I feel much better knowing someone else does this too.;) :sunny:
