geesh.. I think that my dh wishes he was my laptop!! LOL!

I have been on-line non stop following the boards, reading menu's, ordering slings and strollers on ebay, reading the newest planner book (infant in tow is throwing me off a bit), doube/tripple checking airfares and flight changes. Reading all that there is to read about the beach club...

I have changed our ressies at the Dolphin for 9 nights - now we are at the SWAN for 2 nights and then to the BC for 7 nights on FTP. We take walks every night with baby in one of the 3 strollers that I have here - and yet I still found the need to order the Pliko on ebay (it was only $80) and a sling - because you kind folks told me that I should ;)

I have ordered 10 Q&C vouchers and have reviewed the menu's intensely to be sure that we will use them the best way possible. I have ordered the VKL vouchers also(4 adult, 3 kids) - and have decided that we should NOT have ordered the childs version - but live and learn.

I just spent over $100 on Teva's - because of these boards. and yet, I still frequent the budget board for money saving idea's = here is the best idea... 'DON'T SHOP, DON'T SPEND MONEY" .. but that isn't much fun, is it?

I spent 5 long distance phone calls on PS's and still managed to forget to call in the am for Cindy's ressies... imagine that!

I have an excel sheet dedicated to the changing park hours and fireworks shows and have figured out a way for us to see EVERY show while we are there... and still ride TOT, RnR, SM, SpaceMtn over and over and over again.

tell me, i am not the only one...

You mean Obssessive planning isn't natural? DH waits till the last minute to give me the O.K. because he knows he's a "planning widower" 'till we arrive...even on the plane/car I am going over my "bible" and folder filled with must have info. We have had smooth trips tho, and planning is 1/2 the fun! No, You are NOT alone!:p :p :p :p :p :p

You are Soooooo not the only one! I have a multi-page Excel spreadsheet where I keep track of tickets, restaurants, itinteraries and Dreams Unlimited info. I am the planning 'ho!

You are not alone!;)

It's kind of a family hobby, I hope they don't get tired of it!

I have drastically increased my computer "play" time since finding these boards. Worst part is, I work at home via internet and it takes me 5 times as long to finish now because I can't stay off the WDW sits :S

THe last 2 nights I've dreamt that I worked at WDW. I have made ressies and changed 4-5 times. DH is so sick of hearing me talk about it that I think he probably regrets mentioning a trip there! I already want to book a spring trip and we haven't even made the Nov trip yet!

Oh well, it's one of the nicer things in life to obsess about..... :D

I can so totally relate to all of you..........I have a complete Itinerary set for the week that outlines all PS reservations, hotel reservations, where we will be each day...etc.

I drive my husband crazy but he always says that the vacations come off without a hitch!!!!!

I'm still reading and searching the boards and we just got back from our trip last month!! I didn't think I would but I enjoy planning and learning about WDW so much that I can't stop. With each trip I come back home thinking of all the things I could have done better so I start researching again. My family says I could be a WDW travel agent professionally and spend everyone else's money! I can't wait to go back again next year. I really wonder sometimes if I am obsessed or "posessed"!

I kept telling DH before our trip that he would thank me when we got there and I had everything all worked out. And you know what? HE DID! Numerous times! In fact, sometime during the course of our trip, he crossed over to "The DIS side"! He's one of us now!
We've only been back three weeks but, almost every day he comes home and says, "For next year's trip, have you thought about ______?". I love it!
Never thought it would happen but I'm not complaining!

I'm so bad I've taken over other clueless folks Disney vacations. Everybody knows my obsession, so if anyone is thinking about trying WDW, they come to me for advice. I only really plan for them if they ask, I promise!

I LOVE PLANNING AND RESEARCHING MY DISNEY VACATION.
I AM STAYING CSR FOR THE FIRST TIME, I MUST OF LOOK THROUGH EVERY CSR WEBPAGES AND THERE ARE MANY, NOW I FOUND THIS DISCUSSION FORUM. I CAN CLOSE MY EYES AND SEE THE WHOLE RESORT AS IF I'VE BEEN THERE. I TRY TO SHARE ALL MY INFO WITH MY DAUGHTER, BUT I THINK SHE THINKS I AM A LITTLE NUTS. SHE JUST TURNED 13 AND WITH HER TEEN ATTITUDE TOLD ME I SHOULD GET A LIFE. I THINK PLANNING MY DISNEY VACATION IS A GREAT LIFE,
DON'T YOU.

When you look at all the "trouble" we could be getting into, obsessive planning is a blessing!!! Actually, planning has taken me through some of life's lower spots--sometimes a scroll through a million menus is needed to fend off "reality"! Don't know where I'd be without my excel sheets and tables....

I'm with ya'll--totally engrossed in these boards!

Can any of you who have returned and mentioned thinking of things to do better next time share with those of us who are still in the planning stages? We're going in October (my first time back in seven years), so we've still got a lot of planning and dreaming to do.

Thanks!

Since the day my DH called two weeks ago and said "How about a big vacation trip to WDW??" I've been printing, searching, asking, and trying to find out as much as I can about planning this trip. Every day. I'm consumed with "Ok, I need to get this and this and this" I have notes everywhere.

I've been once when I was a teenager...so much has changed, and I want this to be a really nice trip for my family. I too have a huge Excel file in the works :)

My DH just says "go for it!". He would rather leave the planning up to me and just hand me his checkbook...heehee. :p

OHHHHHHHHHH you guys I so, so, so totally agree with you. We are still there at WDW sometimes and I'm convincing my DH to say yes to our next trip. The minute I get back my scattered brain goes into planning drive. I think because sometimes my life gets so nuts (excuse while I put on my martyr hat) and planning and dising lets me get away for a while. It brightens many a rainy day here in the Northeast.

I thought it was normal to do all the planning and researching! :D I think it adds to the fun of vacation to plan, research, read, etc. It kind of makes me feel like the vacation will come sooner if I plan for it by reading the boards, books, etc.

I have a tense neck, back, and butt from sitting at the computer 24 hours a day.

We are driving to Disney from Texas, so we have a very long drive. I am afraid that I am going to have DIS withdrawals on Saturday and Sunday. I will not be in Oralndo until Monday. I have been not stop planning.

Gosh - I am so glad it is not just me!

my hubby has gone to bed without me several times over the last few months.. and when we take our walks at night, all I can talk about is Disney..

"and we can go to the groc store on our way and pick up bottles of water - because at $2.50 bottle * 4 people * 10 days = a TON of money"

"and honey, I made us a ps for rainforest cafe, and since we will have a car, we can just drive so it will be faster to get back with the baby and all"

"honey, do you think we should rent the car for $260 or get the limo for $175 + tip = $200?"

"honey, do you think we should drive to the airport and park for the 10 days at $7.50/day OR take the limo round trip for $160+tip?"

"or we could have x drive us to the airport... but then we would have to depend on x to pick us up from the airport."

"honey do you like this stroller better or the graco stroller better or do you think that you will like that one that I just got on ebay?"

"honey - I don't want to start the baby on solids until we get back from wdw" - too messy, too hard away from home"

I am going to be so sad when the trip is over and we don't have anything to obsess about....
:(

This is so funny! You all are describing much of my daily behavior! My DH has put a limit on how many Disney conversations we can have in a day: one.

By the way, why are there no men on this thread? Do you think most Dis-ers are women? Or just most of the Dis-ers who obsess about Disney?

Yep, I've obsessive too! I've worried over every detail about this trip. Four books from the Library, Two books from Books-a-Million, countless websites....Oh, Yeah, I'm there!

I think I am finally OK with my last plan to stay at PO-R, and forget flying and the towncar. This whole thing began with a modest budget and grew quickly out of hand. Hubby likes going delux, and with a small change he can still get this golf package, and I can relax about the budget. It pays to be compulsive!!!!

Now the fun stuff...On Sunday it's EPCOT, Monday......

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

My DH now regrets getting me my laptop. Before I had to go to the basement to obsess but now it can go with me everywhere. Bless his little heart he even gave me his wireless internet connection from his work laptop so I can watch the kids in the pool and surf (the internet) all at the same time. He also thanks me at the end/during every trip cause he knows how much I put into it and can see how it helps.
