Does anyone else do this?

I am so guilty of this!!!

oh sure, all the time. same as for the grocery store too. DH always gripes that I never stick to the list. :rotfl2:

DH and I used to say Target had a $100 entry fee. ;) Now when we feel like doing recreational shopping, we hit yard sales. You can do a lot of recreational shopping for 5 or 10 bucks at yard sales!

That is the best advice I have heard all day.

Oh yes, luvdzne, cost co is dangerous! $10 a item adds up fast.

Hi - My name is Lucinda and I am also a Target addict who cannot stick to my predetermined list

Cool. I'm not the only one. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Now the next time DH complains about it I can say "but everyone does it, what's the big deal?" :confused3 Hmmmm, for some reason that gives me high school flash backs! :rotfl:

I am banned for life from Target. I only went there once. I was supposed to be accompanying my sister on an errand. I did not have a list of things that I needed. I had never even been inside a Target before. I could not believe all the nice things for sale there! And so cheap! I just had to get a few things, you know, some holiday decorations, a few tablecloths, maybe some new towels, a nice table lamp...Well, a shopping cart full of stuff later, I had spent $250!

I am a Targetaholic! I must be strong and withstand the urge to spend my all of my disposable income on inexpensive, stylish home decor.

BUT, my resolve is weakening. You see, an Ikea opened near me recently. So far I have managed to resist its siren call. But it is tempting, let me tell you, very tempting...

When I was a kid, the best time to go to the store with my dad was when my mom sent him hungry. ;)

We used to LOVE when my step-dad would go to the store. He'd buy us all the stuff Mom didn't. We'd end up with chips, and cookies, pop, all that stuff that!! :cool1:

The way I attempt to avoid this is to NOT go in when I just need one thing. I keep a running list in the kitchen of what we need and usually go once a week. I know I will always spend around $100 there. And I have learned to factor in the extras - I know there are always cute new things there and clearance items that I can't pass up! I LOVE Target. They always have something interesting there!

I can no longer say it only happens at Target and Walmart. Last week, I popped into a grocery store I normally do not shop at just to pick up 1 bag of powder sugar...under $2.00 right...I walked out after spending $167....... :teeth:

Dh says I'm the only person he knows who could go to a 99 cent sale and walk away spending $100 and not have anything to show for it. I just tell him to look in the closets and pantry.. ;)

Happens every time I go to Target...I usually can't walk out w/o having spent $100.00, so I try to go only once a week. They have such great stuff!!

I do this with Target all the time. Gotta love target clearance! "But honey look at all the money I saved you" :rotfl: I am really bad a Costco though. I will go to buy milk, and come out with $150 worth of stuff everytime :confused3 . Now that is some expensive milk!

Costco is MY weakness. I can't ever walk out of there for LESS than $50. I'll find a book, DVDs, scrapbooking supplies, the greeting cards, flowers..and don't even start me on the Free Samples.

Target gets me every time, too. Just the other day I went in for some razors and came out with Valentine placemats, napkins, candy and Pepsi!

Whenever I go to Target (or Wal-mart on the very rare occasions that I go there) I walk in for one thing and walk out with so much more!

That's the reason why I only have a $200 limit on my Target card!!!!

Grocery shopping at Walmart can be dangerous. Yes their cereal is cheap but when you throw in a everything you think you need(a movie, t-shirt, a toy etc) that box of cereal becomes $$$.

No - but I have decided that the Dollar Stores are just evil.. Some kind of witchcraft going on in there that saturates your brain with "It's only a dollar....."

"Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly..." :teeth:

I try to hit them only once a month.. LOL
