Does anyone else cry at the parades or fireworks?

I feel like an idiot asking this, but this year will be my first time seeing MSEP since 1989. It was discontinued for many years some time after I seen it and I have been back to DW a few times since then but we went to MNSSHP and there is a different parade that night. I can't even watch a youtube video of MSEP without bawling. Honestly, Im worried about seeing it in person again after 26 years. As a child when I first experienced it, it was the most magical thing I had ever seen in my life. I had my family with me and my memories are so vivid.

My mother and father both passed about 2 years ago and I just feel like Im going to break down watching this parade. Not as in a spectacle, but the tears will flow and I'll feel like a complete idiot.

I saw WISHES once and just wept during that too. Does anyone else do this?

I did cry after Illuminations one time when I thought it was going to be our last ever trip to Disney and last chance to see it. We did get back and in fact, moved to FL and lived there for just over 5 years. Got to see it a lot more. I cried when they discontinued Tapestry and still miss it. I really enjoy the music as well as the "feeling" during parades and things like Illuminations. Never saw anything like it anywhere else. I wish I had tried to do more on our last trip (last May) because it may have truly been our last trip. :sad1:

Yep... I cry after wishes and I cry after the fireworks during the MVMCP! When they start the narrative about family I loose it.

I get it. Lost my mom three years ago and my dad only a month ago. They started my love for Disney when I was a child and I fully expect to ugly cry multiple times this trip! I will warn my kids and hubby, but I think WDW will be the most amazing sort of grief therapy. Have a fantastic trip and cry all you need to!!

wow, I must be the only adult that does not cry at Disney. I just want to get out of the park ASAP when the show is over. I do cry about the traffic leaving but that is also mixed with yelling at the bad drivers.

The only time I remember crying is when I got stuck by the parade and couldn't get to the other side of the park. ;)

No, I cry too. I cry at the parade, at the castle, at illuminations.....I can cry when I hear certain Disney music and I'm just at home...I can get choked up just when I see Disney commercials.... I am a weenie. But I don't really cry all the time, it's just that WDW is my happy place.

I definitely get a bit teary during Fantasmic! It's my favorite show. And I gotta admit that a tear or two was shed the one time I saw World of Color. What a beautiful show. Omg a masterpeice.

While I didn't cry, I did get emotional when ever I see videos of Spectromagic. Especially the finale with all the classic Disney characters. If the parade ever returns, they should add new characters for the final. However, I did cry during my first trip in 2004, when I was on the ferry and seeing the Cinderella Castle shine in the distance. Didn't help that Mickey was waving farewell at the guests and talking to some of the people as the park closes. Does Mickey still do that anymore?

I have to try very hard not to during the protection show when the tangled lantern part starts up.

Oddly unaffected by wishes, don't like it too much.

I played the illuminations music with the high school band, so that just gives me fond memories and makes me feel that I should be frantically marching.

Fantasmic is my favorite but it doesn't make me cry.

I used to cry at wishes, but I've seen it so many times, I yawn now. I do cry at the end of Fantasmic.. Something about Mickey on the top of the mountain (or the store if you're at Disneyland) and the music that gets me. I will be at Disneyland Paris for my 50th birthday in 15 days and I know I will be crying buckets during the fireworks.

You are absolutely NOT the only adult who does not cry at WDW. I think these boards are skewed by people who have an unusually strong affinity for what Disney is selling. I think the vast majority of people would be unable to think of a single thing at WDW that could even conceivably cause them to cry.

I cry during the opening ceremony at MK, during Wishes, when Mickey appears during Fantasmic...

But then again, I also cry when Iron Maiden takes the stage and the Minnesota Vikings come out of the tunnel onto the field, so I guess I'm just overly emotional :)

Ummm...no. Not while at the park, but I also looked at my Amex bill today and cried me a river! :)
