If so what do you do? Does anyone do the whole haunted house thing? I am hoping to do something like this for a big party at home in 2007....as this year we will be at Disneyland Paris Halloween Party. Would appreciate any ideas of what people do at this spooky time of year!!!!!!

For the past cuple of years we have been away but this year I am thinking about doing something as it's my Fiance's birthday on halloween. Any advice would be grately appreciated

we put lanterns and things at the windows....it encourages the trick or treaters :)

It's the only time of year that I become all 'Bah Humbug' - I hate Hallowe'en, and I close my curtains about 4pm and I don't answer the door (I would probably be totally different if I was in WDW for Hallowe'en) :)

We dont but we dont have any children and it doesnt seem worth it for just us, esp as dh has never celebrated it before coming to the UK.

I love Halloween. When I come home from work the Halloween Yankee Candles get lit, all of the Halloween stuff I have bought in WDW comes out and I sit back ready for the trick or treaters to arrive.

We don't answer our door either LOL but we do decorate out conservatory with Halloween stuff from Asda or Birthdays. :hmghost:

I'd love to go to either DLRP or WDW for Halloween.

I love love love Halloween :stir:

We carve about 20 pumpkins, fill them with black and orange tealights and put them on the grass and the path at the front of the house.

All our windows have scene setters on them, like ghosts, bats etc.

We have tons of scene setters inside, like mummy's bashing through doors, ghosts and ghouls etc.

Red and orange lightbulbs.

A giant spider web that covers the ceiling with loads of spiders on it.

A moving arm that crawls on the floor and a rolling eyeball that plays the adams family tune.

We have a haunted mansion sign out the front, and a door bell ringer that cackles and says ghostly things.

We have rats on the front path.

We have a bowl filled with sweets that grabs your hand when you go near it.

We all dress up and the children have parties for their friends, boys on one day, girls on the other, we play games, eat lot's of food and have a great time.

Basically, everything in Asda for Halloween is in my house!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I must remember to dig out the photo's from last year and do the same for this year and post them on here for you to see.

We used to love getting trick or treaters, but where we live now not so many seem to come....I usually end up with lots of left over sweeties!

I just wish they had a longer school holiday in October as then we could go to WDW or Disneyland California for Halloween. The halloween season at DLP is amazing though, and the evening party atmosphere is fantastic. I am so excited!!!

I'm scared to answer the door to trick or treaters. Someone in Huyton (about 10-15 minutes away) got stabbed by one! Granted it was in a bad area but I just don't trust a lot of the kids round here when they're in groups so I stay inside.

Having spent some time working in our local school most of the kids round here know me and my boys so we get a lot of knocks at our door. Last year was the best ever, some fantastic costumes. This year we will be at Birmingham to see Beauty and the Beast on 31st October so will not see anyone, hope some daft person who thinks we're not answering the door doesn't do something silly! :confused3 There seems to be a lot more decorations in the shops this year, wondering about getting some to take with us next October when we go to WDW and MNSSHP.

We live far enough away so that we don't get trick or treaters come by. Even if they did bother, they still ain't getting any candy.

My sister is lucky; she got to go trick or treating last year and I have never been; nor have the other sibs! Still, the thought of watching old Cartoon Network and Disney halloween specials is good news to me.

We have done pumpkin carving for the past 2 halloweens; only one and mostly it's just the template on the thing! Still, it's fun to do and most of the inners can be made into soups (My dad did complain one year of having too much pumpkin soup around; he hated the taste! :lmao: ).

I did see some lovely Halloween Decorations when I went to MA this year; they looked so lovely and were even decorated on a nice Hallo-tree. :goodvibes

we decorate our house massively for halloween including airblowns lights and animated figures I love Halloween!! Infact most of my street loves Halloween and decorates big time for it!!

We don't open the door as it always teenagers with the coat hoods up, they are probably just on the way to the shops.

Last year we even had teenagers knock on our door singing we wish you a merry bonfire night!!! yeah right, nice try.

We have decorated our house for the last few years, adding a few more bits every year, pumpkins, bats, spiders webs, lots of candles, window decorations etc :thumbsup2 our house stands out a bit, as the rest of the houses on the street just have a pumpkin in the window!

Most of our neighbours have small children, so we get lots calling and their costumes are amazing.:maleficen

This year we have bought a voice changer from Asda, so we plan to have fun especially with the older ones ;) We always play spooky music though, the kids love it!

We prepare pumpkin lantern for the kids and nephews, although we don't get any kids at the door. :)
