Does Anyone Actually TRADE points?

I'm wondering if anyone does this. We want to go to VWL next year for Thanksgiving. My home is OKW, however. I'm wondering if anyone ever just trades points for points so that they can book at the 11 month window for a different resort. Or do you mostly find that it's just easier to buy points from someone at that resort and then rent your own?

I realize I have months and months before I have to book this, but I'm just wondering what the best way to go on this is.

It does happen but overall I don't think it works out. You'd have to either trust each other making the reservations or you'd have to each transfer points to the other person. Since you can only transfer in or out in one use year, one would have to wait. Your best bet is to make the reservaitons at your home resort at 11 months then change over at 7 months if availalbe. If not, go on the wait list.

The problem with transferring points into your membership is - if you own at OKW any points transferred in to you would still show up as OKW points - I don't think there is any way to add another resort to your Membership to show points at another resort.

Actually it's possible to force the home resort of the points transferred in but you must plan for it and MS has to have a supervisor do it manually. If this is important to the transferee, make sure you tell MS up front about it and don't take no for an answer when the time comes.
