Does anybody know when / if Disneyquest is closing?

I mentioned on another post that I plan to take my kids to Disneyquest for our first night of our trip and someone else posted that they heard Disneyquest is closing for good. Does anybody know when this will happen? I am trying to plan a trip for may/2007. My kids will be so upset if they can't go to Disneyquest again.

You'll be ok, Jim Hill says early 2008:

What was once supposed to have been the flagship of an entire chain of 30 indoor theme parks, one that would have eventually encircled the globe, DisneyQuest will be closing in 18 months. Then this 5-story tall, 100,000 square foot structure -- which towers over the West Side section of Downtown Disney -- will be gutted & turned into a brand-new ESPN Zone.

Aw, that stinks. The one in Chicago closed like 3 months after it opened.

We go to Disneyquest every trip. I even got to go to the one in chicago a few times before it closed. This is a shame..my whole family loves the Pirates ride...Well I wonder how much it would be to buy and ship one home when they close.

Too bad because I wanted to take my Dh and DS(6 yrs) on a trip in the future to Disney Quest. We have a trip in June 2007 but my DS( 48 in) is still under height req. for some attractions at DisneyQuest(which seem to be most of the cooler ones). Do you thing they would put some of the indoor attractions from DisneyQuest in another park of WDW like Epcot?

Aw man, why are closing Disney Quest? Are they closing to remodel it or just to put something else there?
