Block the email notifications you get everytime someone replies to a thread you have posted on? I used my dad's email to register and he is getting sick of all the emails. Can someone please tell me how to block them?

click on the " User CP" button at the top. Go to Edit Options. In there you can check which email notifications you get.

So I have to not subscribe in order to not get emails?

Yes, select 'Do Not Subscribe' .

If you wanted to subscribe say to a trade thread and didn't want to subscribe to anything else, you should see a thread tool's box at the top of the thread, click the little arrow and select subscribe to the thread.
