I just went and bought a Roomba. DH doesn't think it will work and that it looks too hard to put together. He wants me to take it back. We have all tile downstairs and two big dogs. They shed everywhere. We need to sweep every day. If the Roomba works it would make keeping my house clean alot easier.

So if you have one please let me know if you like it.

We have one but only use it in the carpeted sunroom. We also have 2 big inside dogs who shed alot. I like it just fine, but it doesn't totally take away the use of a vacuum, in my opinion. It's nice to use because you can turn it on and walk away. However, I still vacuum the room every 10 days or so because I don't think the roomba sucks as good as an upright vacuum. (I should point out our carpet is hunter green and therefore shows everything, hence, it needs to be vacuumed every 2-3 days).

I have so much clutter, I mean objects d'art, hanging around, that my roomba tends to get stuck and then it starts whiiiiiiinnnnning.

But I have an old version and I've heard the new ones are better. Gotta love that docking system!

We have one. It vacuums every room of the house, and for many of them, does a better job than we could. (I cannot get the "regular" vacuum to vacuum up the dust and cat hair that collects under the middle of our king-sized water bed, for example, but Ella, our Roomba, has no problem zipping under there and getting it all up.) There is no assembly necessary, at least nothing more than you'd have with any vacuum, cleaning out the dirt it picks up. We try to keep ours nice and clean inside, by brushing it out, because we're talking some pretty nifty technology inside, including sensors and stuff that you don't have an "regular" vacuums, but it surely isn't hard.

The Roomba has taught us that clutter is bad, so we do pick up for ourselves, every day, just like our mommas taught us, so it isn't a big production on vacuum day.

totally love ours! we have 2, 1 for downstairs, 1 for upstairs...i love them sooo much that the regular vac only gets to come out 1x a week. we empty the dirt bin every evening and clean the filter -and 1x a week we do flip them over to do a short clean out of the brushes. i have a golden retriever and wood floors and the HAIR it picks up, even after the regular vac has just been put away is amazing! it goes from room to room no problem, carpet to tile to wood. i've sold the thing to so many friends b/c they can't believe how awesome it is. I also have a cleaning lady that comes in 1x a month and she even got one b/c she can't believe how good of a job it does. we do run it every day, we have the scheduler one that can run on a time frame when we are sleeping so we dont hear it. when it does run when it is home it goes for @ 1.5 hrs before it docks itself and gets to charging again... good luck and don't bring it back, you'll be hooked!!!!
