Does anybody have a home laminator?

I was looking at some home laminators that you can get at Target & Michael's - the xyron ***. Any suggestions or hints. Would like to laminate 4x6 cards, but also be able to use it later for school projects, etc., so a regular sheet of paper would also be nice if it fit, too.

thanks,
Tracy

I have that! We laminate with it, of course, but we also make stickers (great for school projects) and other things (seems like there was a magnet or something we did before). I actually have 2, one is the full size one and the other one is smaller, probably more like the 4x6 size.

I have never seen it on sale so I only buy it with a Michaels 40% off coupon and supplies the same way. I collect the coupons from my friends and family when there is one in the paper and make multiple trips to Michaels.

that's what I was planning to do, I just wanted someone's opinion that has is, if it works okay. Do you like it? does it work okay?

I have it and LOVE it.

It was free at staples in a black friday sale. Hard to beat that price.

Really though, just love it. You'll find so much stuff to laminate, and be constantly thrilled each and every time.

You could go with the Xyron 510 or 900. I have the 510 and love it. Before you buy one just really think about how much you would really need the 900 version. (ie. Would you really be laminating a 8x10 sheet). Definately look for 50% coupons at Joann's, AcMoore, Hobby Lobby or Michael's. The refills do go on sale as well. But the 900 ones are more expensive. (There are a few different types of refills - magnet, laminate or sticker). Take a look on xyron .com and you can see a demo. I also have the xyron X. It is a small 1.5 and I have the 2.5 These work great for scrapbooking. And also when you kids take a whole roll of stamps and play with them. You can remake the stamp into a sticker and put on your envelope.

The xyron 510 - Creates stickers, magnets, labels, and laminate out of almost any item.

Simply feed the item in, turn the handle and trim. Applies an even layer of adhesive to items up to 5" wide. Instantly laminates items up to 4.5" wide. Change applications quickly with easy load cartridges.

Includes a 5" wide x 18' long acid-free permanent adhesive cartridge, inspiration sheets and manual.

Xyron 900 Creates stickers, magnets, labels and laminate out of many items. Simply feed the item in, turn the handle and trim. Applies an even layer of adhesive to items up to 9" wide. Instantly laminates items up to 8.5" wide. Change applications quickly with easy load cartridges. Cutter removeable for additional trimming. Includes a 9" wide x 20' long acid-free permanent adhesive cartridge, inspiration sheet and manual.

I agree. I have the 900 and recently brought it to work because it has a lot of waste at home. I use the smaller versions at home. Even for school projects, most of the use for the Xyron is smaller, mostly making stickers for poster board displays and the like.

That said, I love my Xyrons. I have several. Don't know all the numbers but I love them all.
