Does an infant count in "sleeps 4"?

Like the title says, looking into rooms and whatnot for a stay, but wondering if an under 1yo counts as 1 when they say "sleeps x". I didn't know if that is the count according to fire code or if that is just the number of beds available. Is there any flex if we have a crib/pnp?

We will have 2 adults, 3 kids ages 5, 2 and infant if that helps. Trying to find out what resorts will fit us.

Yes, the two year old will count; but not the infant. The rule of thumb is one child under the age of three will not count under the fire code, if you have more than one child under the age of three.

So you will still qualify as occupancy of 4. You will not be a family of 5 until the infant turns three.
