I am looking at purchasing a nintendo 3ds XL. The price at Toys R Us is $199 and it's $225 at Amazon . . . ANyone ever been able to price match at Amazon?

I'm not sure they have a policy on PMing however they do have a tab somewhere to let them know of a lower price on a product they carry. They have been known to match Target and TRUs prices by lowering the same item on their site.

Thanks for the tip. I found the link on the Amazon page, and submitted info for both TRU and WalMart (both have the same item for $199). I'll see what if anything happens. I would be pretty excited if Amazon lowered the price!

Not exactly what you're asking about but FYI...

Target normally price matches, but right now during the holidays, they will price match online competitors as well, including Toys R Us, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. Bring it up on your smartphone or have guest services validate the price at their computer and you're good to go.

***Holiday Price Matching: select online competitors

Well match the price if you buy a qualifying item at a Target store between Nov. 1 and Dec. 16 and find the identical item for less at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com or BabiesRUs.com. Simply show us the current online price using your mobile device, or bring in a printed page showing the current online price by Dec. 16. The online price and availability will be validated by a Target team member at the Guest Service desk.

Not to hijack this thread but!!!!! I have placed a few orders the week before Thanksgiving using free super saver shipping from Amazon. It said estimated delivery date would be between Nov 30- and some time the first week of December. Well as of yesterday my order has not even been shipped.:confused3 One of the orders said it would be received between Dec 21-Dec 28 :scared1: P.S. it said all my items were in stock. By the way none of the items I ordered were on their pre-black friday sale. Normally I would have received my items by now.

I placed an order yesterday for an item that was in stock and prime eligible (I'm a prime member) and when I got through with the transaction it gave me an estimated delivery of 12/12 :confused3
I did the chat now and got it "upgraded" to 2 day which isn't really an upgrade since I pay for that service with my prime membership. If Prime eligible items aren't going to be shipped in 2 days, why the heck am I paying for a membership

I'd contact them, they may be able to upgrade your shipping.

I've been prime for a few years now, and recently when I've purchased things it says the 2 day shipping will arrive in 3-4 days. It has still showed up in 2 days though. Yesterday, I had 3 items delivered that were ordered Thursday, but had a delivery estimate of Monday or Tuesday of this week.

Amazon isn't going to price match any system made by Nintendo, because Amazon isn't stocking any Nintendo system. They are fighting about some bad (3DS) systems from a year or so ago.

All Nintendo systems are being sold via 3rd parties. Even if its fulfilled by Amazon.

From the Amazon Website

Pricing
We offer you consistently low prices on every item in our store. With the exception of Televisions, we do not price match with other retailers. We do not have bulk order discounts.

As for things being shipped "on time", some items are listed as "in stock" but "requires extra [X amount of time] for processing". There have been a couple of things I've notice that are eligible for Prime services, but take 1-3 weeks longer to ship. If it's eligible for Prime, then when it gets shipped, it will still be shipped in two business days. (Think like a pre-order..you order it in advance, but they can't ship it until the appropriate time.) Awful when you don't notice there's going to be a delay until after the order has been placed.

I think, if it's the above case and they offered to move it up to two days, that may be the processing time that's being moved up and not the shipping time.

ETA: This might be a better Amazon page to look at.

The item I ordered was In Stock from Amazon and there was no notice of additional processing time. When it was time to check out, and it was giving me my choice of shipping options, all the dates were what they were supposed to be with prime, it wasn't until after I placed the order it gave me the 2 week shipping estimate. That is why I was annoyed, I have purchased things that needed additional processing time but this was not one of them, at least it wasn't noted on the product page that it was.
To their credit, they have excellent CS. I didn't contact them to demand they ship it right away, I just wanted to know what was going on and how as a Prime member I felt what they did with that order was a little shady. He offered to upgrade the shipping, and I gladly accepted :)

Sorry OP to hijack your thread.
Just an FYI- Amazon is having a week of deals, and tomorrow will be video games. Maybe what you want will be a feature lightning deal. usually they have a mix of games, accessories and consoles on sale throughout the day.
