Does anyone know if Alamo has a program like Thrifty does where you can bypass the regular line for quicker check in ??

Alamo has a special counter policy. It is: long lines, bad personal with really bad attitudes, over charge you and give you a junk car, and anything else they can think of to ream you while you wait in the 1.5 hour long line....

Not sure how disney can be involved with such a bad company but we can sure stay away form them!

Check mousesavers.com for information about joining Quicksilver. It doesn't seem to be quite as straightforward, but I'm in the middle of getting signed up because their rate was $125 cheaper than the next best rate for our XMAS trip.

It appears that you need to sign up as a "small business". They then send you a sort of business code that you use to sign up individual people for Quicksilver. I got our business code immediately and then signed myself up for Quicksilver. It looks like I should receive an agreement within a week that I'll need to sign and send back.

For $125 savings, I can put up with having to be firm about declining insurance, upgrade, etc. And hopefully with my requests logged under Quicksilver it will help take care of pushy salespeople as well as long lines!

Once you join QS you will not be bugged about insurance anymore, your options will be listed on the reservation. You will not need to stand in line, you can proceed directly to the garage and select your car and be on your way after stopping at the kiosk as you leave the garage.

I also just found Alamo's rates to be cheaper than what I currently have, which is the only reason i'm considering using them! now another question.... should I keep my reservation with Thrifty or cancel since I made a new one with Alamo?? Do any of you have 2 reservations or have you in the past ?? Is this unfair to do ?? will you get charged for the one you don't use ?? I'm sorry for all the questions but I haven't rented a car in 8 years !!!
Thanks so much for all your help everyone !!!!

bopeep9207's description of Alamo QuickSilver rental sounds just like National's Emerald Reserve or Aisle service. Is Alamo located in the main terminal garage at MCO, just like National? Or do you need to take a shuttle to Alamo's counter and car lot? I have QuickSilver, but I haven't used it yet ...

I haven't rented with Alamo, but know from my Sept 25th trip that Alamo is located in the same garage with National at MCO. In fact, they share a booth at the car area. No shuttle required

QS is becoming a lot like National's Emerald Club. Alamo is in the main terminal at MCO. In fact National and Alamo are sister companies, share counter space at MCO and car space in the garage.
