Airfare from Philly $700 for 4 people ( currently on SW airlines )
House rental... $1200 for 10 days ( already booked )

Adding car rental, tickets, entertanment.... does $5K sound like the "right" number for 10 days?

2 adults, 2 kids

Depends
How many park days? What kind of passes?
Do you plan on sit down meals, how many and where?
Any other add ons like Fantasmic Dinner package or an illuminations cruise?
Spa day?

Go to www.mousesavers.com for good car rental codes. We don't rent one so I am not up on the cost but I would guess maybe $350 for 10 days.
Tickets- Here are the basic prices, you can get discounts, but not a huge one

5-Day Park Hopper PLUS includes 2 plus features
gate price - $300.33 Adults (10 and older); $240.69 Children (3-9)
advance purchase price - $275.86 Adults (10 and older); $221.53 Children (3-9)
6-Day Park Hopper PLUS includes 3 plus features
gate price - $332.28 Adults (10 and older); $266.25 Children (3-9)
advance purchase price - $306.74 Adults (10 and older); $246.04 Children (3-9)
7-Day Park Hopper PLUS includes 4 plus features
gate price - $364.23 Adults (10 and older); $291.81 Children (3-9)
advance purchase price - $336.56 Adults (10 and older); $269.46 Children (3-9)

A good guess on food is about $100 a day, but if you plan to eat at the house a lot you could cut that in half.

so let's see
$3100 after house and air
assume 7 day hoppers or 10 day world pass $1200+ give or take
Food $1000, but could be much less or much more depending on how you eat.
Car $350 (not sure about this one)
Misc $200 (Gas, Tylonol, and so on)
Souveniers $200 (at least)

Okay that looks like you are in the right ball park.

Someting I always budget for is Photo related expenses (prints as I have a digital), but I will take 100 photos a day and print around 20 of them...

Oh and welcome to the DIS! :wave2: :wave2:
You might try and ask over on the budget board, I have seen some very detailed lists of things to budget for over there. Lots of tips on saving money too!:Pinkbounc

Thanks for the welcome. We have two whole days without kids so we don't know what we're doing. We have about 30 people going and every set of parents has agreed to watch each others kids for at least one day so that everybody gets 2 days to do what they want.

One thing we do plan to do is go to "Cowboy's", a country music club in ORL. We're not giant country music fans but we want to let loose one night and country line dancing can be fun in a ridiculous sort of way!

Depending what park passes you choose consider getting one of the children an AP. This will give you free parking (vs. $7 a day), 10% off at World of Disney shopping and some dining discounts. It may be more cost effective for you.

There is some fun stuff to do at Pleasure Island too, from what I hear. Not just 20 something stuff (which was what I assumed from the name). There is a great trip report somewhere that details what it has to offer... I think it was Disbug's solo trip, which should be on the first page or two of the Trip Reports board. I love that board for information, because everyone is just posting what they did and how much they enjoyed it, and you draw your own conclusions.

I am awful at line dancing, so it stresses me out. My Sister thinks of it as good mindless fun! Maybe she just gets out more than I do.

30 people WOW.

While I am here I should give you my two favorite links:

Just FYI,

I'm not sure if you booked yet, but SWA is now offering $98 R/T from Philly through 9/13. However, you must book by 4/15.

Good Luck,
Helene
