documents from WDW? when?

We are now just 50 days out, woohoo!!!

Does anyone know when I should start obsessing over what's in the mail box, like my luggage tags and travel documents?

i haven't been keeping close tabs on it lately so it may have changed, but...

DME is sent about 6 weeks prior to check-in
Package materials are sent about 5 weeks prior to check-in

and of course if you booked through a TA, it all goes to them directly.

Yes- it is usually around the 45 day mark that they are shipped out. Have a blast!

We are arriving Dec 9th and I realized I haven't received anything in the mail yet. So, I called WDW today, and the CM told me documents will be mailed out 30 days prior to arrival, and luggage tags are sent out 21 days before.

Can't wait!

We booked through AAA and will be at PO-Riverside from Dec. 9-15. So should be anytime soon. Can't wait.

as i mentioned, if you book through a TA, it goes to them. so it's up to your TA to decide when to send it.

AAA agents typically don't get documents until 2-3 weeks prior to check-in.

I made my final payment Oct 15th. I got some of the paperwork in a week. I only just got our luggage tags and the rest of the paperwork last Thursday. We got the tags 39 days out.

I'm room only so the only documents I expected were DME information.

That arrived this morning. I check in on December 6th. So.. they arrived a bit early.

actually, they sound right on time if you go by what i said. if anything, they're late.

6 weeks prior to check-in means 42 days. most tend to get them around 38 days out but i'm assuming 31 is more reasonable for canada.

the CM quoted above that said 3 weeks would have been right once. when the service first started, they would even have problems getting tags out and even had to fedex them very often. 3 weeks was the norm for a while, but then it was bumped up to about 5 weeks and now 6.

Remember, if you're asking a CM at DRC/CRO/DTC, they aren't going through the same process you are (unless they don't live in Orlando and visit the parks) - DME isn't handled by them. Many who do live in the area don't even visit the parks.

when you pay it off has nothing to do with it. in theory, you're paid in full by 45 days out anyway. even if you pay in full at the time of booking 10 months out, it's sent on the same timeline. the only exception is when you book with less than 45 days out, things are sent more quickly.

I was going by the 21 days mention further up the thread.. thus me thinking they were early.

Going by what you said.. yes they're late.

And no matter how you slice it -- they were wrong! But that's another thread.

Ok we are leaving on the 8th of December. I received our ME tickets last week. I haven't gotten the rest of my stuff as of yet. I am giving it till the 8th of November.

We booked thru AAA and I just got "the call" about 2 weeks ago that our documents were in We just went this past Saturday and picked everything up. 25 more days!! Can't wait!!

I'm just hoping ours get here before we leave. We are heading to Universal for a week before we check into Disney. So we leave the 11th and don't get to Disney until the 17 for a room only booking with our package starting the 18th. So if they wait we might be gone before it arrives !

I'll be sad because I want my luggage tags lol.

see, i dunno how much being in canada affects it. in the US, it's definitely not normally shipped UPS, it comes by USPS, regular mail. that came from disney directly?

Ok, my trip is Dec. 7th and we got DME package 1 week ago, and got all other documents and luggage tags today! Woo Hoo!!!
