Documents for Financing?

Looking to pick up an add-on during our upcoming BWV trip next month... We can't talk to DVD directly due to licensing issues in Nebraska, so I can't ask them. What documentation does Disney require to complete financing? Proof of employment stuff or do they just run a standard three-bureau credit check?
May just throw the whole thing on the credit card. Looking at all our options.
Might not buy at all and hold out for the much-ballyhooed and oft-rumored Contemporary or AK DVC!

I think they ask for W-2s or 1099 SE if self-employed.

Well, I don't know how anxious you are to add some more points, but you're looking at 2.5 - 3 years from announcement to opening. Uncertain per-point cost. Uncertain development plan (amenities, room design, room types.) Undertain maintenance. Uncertain point chart.

That's an awful lot of uncertainties for a resort that's 100% speculative.

tj---Thanks. I'll carry a smattering of documents... I'm active duty military so my W-2 doesn't come close to reflecting the reality of my compensation---a significant portion of our "pay" comes in the form of "allowances" that aren't taxed. A shell game for the green-eyeshade crew, but it makes it difficult to make an apples-to-apples comparison with a civilian salary.

As for all the speculation---agree with you. If a new resort is announced, we might hold off on an add-on entirely to see how DVD packages the newer resorts, and just augment our near-term stays with cash ressies. Question for the DVC veterans out there---when first announcing a new resort in the past, was there a period where DVD offered initial buy-in to existing members?

There is no exclusive sale period, but there have been incentives for existing members to add-on when new DVC projects are announced. Plus, you would be able to buy-in just like everybody else when they begin selling anyway. The complicating factor is that you (OP) are physically located in Nebraska, where DVD is not allowed to sell; this would mean you would need to go to FL to buy in, so maybe you could schedule a weekend getaway to accomplish this if and when they start selling the Contemporary Villas. But hey, maybe by the time they announce this, Uncle Sam will relocate you to a State where you can buy DVC from home.

Good luck!
