Documentary Thread (Netflix suggestions or other)

While these are really more biographies than documentaries...they all are really great movies...

The King's Speech
The Pat Tillman Story
Nowhere Boy (about John Lenon's childhood)

I need to check and see if The Pat Tillman Story is out yet. Something up with that whole story. And his poor parents will never know the truth.

I love scientific documentaries! There are a lot of Nova Science Now and National Geographic documentaries that are great, if you're interested in learning something new!

There is one on Netflix and I believe it's National Geographic, it's called "Moment of Death". Absolutely fascinating. It's about how drs and scientists can't quite pinpoint the exact moment of death in a human. I know that sounds crazy, but even after the heart has stopped, a number of organs in the body are still working (barely). And the brain can still process because there is oxygen in the brain from when the heart last pumped. So someone could be dead, by having a heart stopped, but there is still enough oxygen in the brain that the person can still hear what you are saying. Very good documentary.

Paper Clips: It's about a class in I believe Alabama trying to understand the scale of the Holocaust. Brought me to tears.

Second one is Inside North Korea. OMG! Talk about a completely different mindset.

The Suicide Tourist - I recently stumbled upon this on Netflix and it really made me think.

Sorry guys, I really must learn to multiquote.

Yes, this was a good but sad movie. I would have been scared to death, but with ALS, you know what is ahead. He seemed to go very peacefully. I was happy for him and his family that he was able to travel to do this.

America. The Story of Us.

Watched it over the weekend (all 12 episodes :scared1:) and loved it.

That one sounds really good, gonna put it on my list.

Just Melvin is good if you're interested in pure evil, not sure if Netflix has it, it was HBO.

I love documentaries! :goodvibes

There are a lot on here that I haven't seen and I can't wait to check them out. 'Moment of Death' in particular sounds really fascinating.

Some that I've seen are:
- Super Size Me
- The Corporation
- Science of the Soul
- This Film Is Not Yet Rated

I've seen Super Size Me. And Science of the Soul sounds really good, I'll look for it on Netflix. I keep meaning to watch The Corporation, was it good?
