Doctor Who

I've actually seen the episode with that robot in it!
thanks again for all the pictures! Please if you have more, don't hold back!

Oh, I have more! Quite a few more actually. Enough for about 2-3 more posts. Now onto the newer monsters.

IMG_4927.jpg

Sycorax. One of the two costumes added a few days before I went. How's that for luck?

IMG_4928.jpg

The Vashta Nerada. The second costume added before I went.

IMG_4931.jpg

Cat nuns. These were creepily realistic. I kept expecting them jump out at me...

IMG_4932.jpg

Gas mask people. Also creepy. If it weren't for the hands, I would of thought the same thing.

IMG_4933.jpg

Scarecrow.

IMG_4934.jpg

Pig Slave. I've just realised there's not really a reason to say what they are, since you probably know, and the name is often behind them... Oh well!

IMG_4936.jpg

Face of Boe. Yes, I touched the tank...

IMG_4937.jpg

The Hath.

IMG_4938.jpg

Heavenly Host. Closest costume to a Weeping Angel there...

IMG_4942.jpg

Judoon.

IMG_4950.jpg

The Absorbaloff.

IMG_4961.jpg

Slytheen!

IMG_4948.jpg

The Ood. I don't know why it was the only one behind glass...

IMG_4944.jpg

Looks like my luck ran out here... Then again, it's not really a major villain, is it?

Next will be all the "behind the scenes" stuff they had.

No, it's actually a Torchwood monster. Yay! I can't wait to see those pics. Thank you soooo much!

Omg these are amazing! Thank you so much for posting them all! Now I just have to get my parents to take me to England...

Now here's all the behind the scenes stuff.

IMG_4945.jpg

As it says, this area showed how they make the models, masks, etc. for everything. It focused on the Ood mask.

IMG_4946.jpg

IMG_4947.jpg

That might explain why the Ood was in a glass case actually...

IMG_4951.jpg

They had a little area where you could enter a competition. You make your own monster, and if it wins, they make it into a model (as seen here with a previous winner) and is a main villain in a Doctor Who Adventure story (I'm assuming a comic strip they have in one of the Doctor Who magazines here?).

IMG_4954.jpg

A mock-up of an office at BBC. I think it's the art department, but I'm not sure... There's quite a lot of stuff there. I wish I spent more time looking at it. There's a plaque saying some stuff there give hints to upcoming episodes...

IMG_4955.jpg

Concept art for the christmas episode.

IMG_4956.jpg

IMG_4957.jpg

It's the Van Gogh painting with the unseeable monster in it!

IMG_4958.jpg

TARDIS sketches

IMG_4962.jpg

This was a pretty cool thing. They had an area where you put on headphones, and listened to the theme song. There are things on the wall that you can move up & down, which changes the volume of different sections of the soundtrack (so the drumbeat, the strings bit, etc.) and you had to try to get it to sound like the authentic tune.

IMG_4964.jpg

That's what it looked like!

IMG_4963.jpg

Just some information on stuff about sound in Doctor Who. Probably not readable at that size.

IMG_4965.jpg

You press the button on the Dalek, and say something into it. Then you press it again, and it repeats what you said in a Dalek voice! There was also a Cyberman one, but I didn't get a picture of it. However...

There's a video of me using the Cyberman one. I did have a video of the Dalek one as well, but I somehow ended it too early, and I didn't realise until I got home!

My final post will be in a few days, showing a few leftover things, plus a couple of props from the recent Christmas episode.

Thank you soooo much! I especially love the behind the sense stuff! I can not wait for your next post!

OK, here are my last photos. What a shame!

IMG_4979.jpg

IMG_4980.jpg

This little area was a room where they taught you how to walk like a Scarecrow, or Cyberman. There was a mirror at the front (well, funfair-style mirrors anyway!) so you could see how you were doing. Nobody seemed to want to do it. I was alone in my monster walking...

IMG_4969.jpg

It's another Dalek! But this is a special Dalek. Not only can you touch it but...

(video)
It moves! Well actually, you can move the limbs yourself. Now you too can experience what it's like to be a Dalek!

(video)
See? It's not very exciting when you can't move anything else, but you could scare passerbys who don't know what it is, I guess... :p

IMG_4982.jpg

I'm leaning on a Dalek. This was a prop, so don't attempt this the next time a Dalek invades your hometown ;)

IMG_4971.jpg

From the recent Christmas episode. It's the chamber that whatsherface was in. How many days does she have left...

IMG_4978.jpg

4 days. Better not open it.

IMG_4972.jpg

The thingy that controls the weather in that town. Or was it the clouds... Whatever, it did something to the sky.

IMG_4977.jpg

The chair that Dumbledore sat in, that faced away from his father.

Things I didn't get photos of include a wall of Radiotimes magazine covers, the area where you can have your photo taken on the TARDIS or in the Pandorica (all greenscreen), there was a TV where the Doctor costumes were that showed how they made the whole interactive experience, there was a room where they showed a scene from Doctor Who Confidential about how they filmed the flying shark thing, and there was another sound thing where you put on headphones and added sound effects to the video (from the WW2 Daleks episode). That was hard to do. I tended to press the wrong button for the sound effects... Oh, I didn't get any photos of the gift shop either :p So it's all over now! At least, until I go back again (which is going to happen, especially if they add Weeping Angel costumes!).

In case you haven't seen it, here's the special Doctor Who minisode from Comic Relief. The first 2 links are the official BBC videos, but I'm not sure if they work outside of the UK, so there's another link as well. You might want to watch that last one in a mirror though, unless you don't mind it being flipped...

Oh, and here's the prequel to the first episode of the new series! Very "Empty Child" like imo...

Hiyaa, sorry I haven't posted in agessss!(a)
Hahaa, to answer that question 'who's your favourite doctor?'
DAVID TENNANT ALL THE WAYYY;D
ahh, awesome photos marypops! :)

Yeah, I heard. It's such a sad thing to happen, especially as the new series starts this week. I wonder if there'll be a tribute to her at the end of this week's episode. I also wonder what's going to happen to the Sarah Jane Adventures... Her loss has made quite an impact, with her still being one of the top trending topics worldwide on Twitter. R.I.P Elizabeth, you will be missed.

Yeah that is really sad! I can't believe that this has happend! i really hope they do so a tribute tom her, i mean they can't just pretend that this didn't happen. My mom was especially sad when she heard the news because she was her first companion she ever saw ( back when she watched the old Doctor Who as a kid). R.I.P Elizabeth. but on the bright side, only 3 days until the premiere:banana:!

It's started! Episode was quite awesome. First things first. OMG! The Doctor's dead?!? Within the first 10 minutes of the show?!?!?!? WHY?!? Did anyone guess that The Doctor was the one who got letter number one? It makes sense, but I didn't guess it... Although my sister did correctly guess what Amy needed to tell The Doctor. Here's me thinking it was the fact the Doctor died. Nope. She's pregnant! And that ending. That ending was so shocking. Poor Amy shooting that girl in the suit D-: Anyway, who do you think the "space man" at the beginning is?

Another fez moment in this episode btw ;) Well 2, I guess, depending on what you view the "moment" to be.

hejufri9dwidbeqwuriovejh such a good episode.
And of course I wasn't wearing my fez while watching it. Nope.
I thought it'd be him because he was obviously gonna come back at some point in the episode.
I just want to know why she needed to tell the Doctor so urgently. And when Rory wasn't around. Is it his baby? o.O
Anyone else think that it was River when she was younger in the spacesuit? She'd be the right age.. And in the preview you see her in a spacesuit. But that seems too obvious for Steven Moffat lol.

I am so excited for the new season!
It hasn't aired here yet, I've got hours to go. DX

Seriously though it looks fantastic.

Finally got to watch it, and I've got to say it was kind of confusing. I guess, I had been looking forward to the Doctor finally coming to America for so long, so when it started with the Doctor dying right off the bat, then the weird monsters that were barely there and basically confusing me, and topping it all off with Amy saying she's pregnant (which seemed SO out of place), it was just overall weird. I definitely can't wait for next week though to see the rest of it and figure it all out. Oh and I loved the fact that Nixon was in there, as were his tapes - as a student in AP US History right now I found that reference quite entertaining

Okay, for some reason the white color isn't working for me, so I can't post anything about the episode. [Except the fact that it was pretty fantastic. :thumbsup2] However, I did find this awesome cartoon just now right here that you guys might like. [It is a bit spoiler-y, though, so if you haven't seen the episode yet and don't want to ruin anything, then don't click it.]

That cartoon was adorable - it actually made me go awwww for a moment :rotfl:

I'm wondering, did you guys get the "in honour of Elisabeth Sladen" title card before the episode started? Or did you get the 15 minute tribute to her that aired after the episode?
