The Eleventh Hour, the first episode with Matt Smith as the Doctor premieres tomorrow night at 9pm on BBC America.
At 8pm there is some sort of show about Doctor who! (like a doccumentary or something)

The reception of the new Doctor from the people in the UK is very positive.... So even though I am still in mourning over the loss of David Tennant.... I am really looking forward to this new season!

:goodvibes

I have it set to record as well . DH and DS7 are going on an overnight trip with the Cub Scouts tomorrow. It's going to be real hard for me not to watch it tomorrow night  I'm hoping to last until Sunday night so that after they get back, DH and I can watch it.

:happytv:DVR is all set!!
cybrkitn - my guys are all away until Sunday at a camp as well. I'll watch on my own (I can actually pay attention!) and then watch again with them - probably pretend I haven't already watched and just amazingly understand all that is going on ...

I wasn't looking forward to this until I read a few reviews from britain this week - they seem to like him:confused3. I still think he looks like the dad from Back to the Future...we'll see I guess;)

I kept reading the title of the thread "Doctor Who on BBC America Tomorrow" and asking myself Dr. who that did what will be on BBC tomorrow. It was a duh moment.

I was contemplating that, but thought twice about it. Watching something the first time lets you feel the surprises and stuff. The second time through, it's already "been there, done that"; the appeal is gone (and the fact that I'll never hear the end of it from DH if I watch it without him ). However, having it recorded means that we can fast forward through the commercials and not have to wait :teeth:

Ok, I have to ask this. I've noticed that with the first two Doctors (Chris and David) that their character didn't like using guns. So, besides a new writer, why is this Doctor using a gun in the trailer?

The Eleventh Hour is AMAZING. After watching the first 2 episodes, I can wholeheartedly say that Matt Smith is THE most perfect Doctor ever. Karen Gillan as Amy Pond is a wonderful companion. She is a perfect fit for the 11th Doctor. I already had complete faith in Steven Moffat's capabilities taking over for RTD, but he FAR exceeded anything I thought he could.
The Beast Below(episode 2) is wonderful as well. But I am still just completely blown away by The Eleventh Hour! I can't wait to watch it again.

I cheated and watched Eleventh Hour with my nieces and nephews Easter Sunday at my sister's. (Don't ask where my source is.) It had us all engaged from the start. Matt Smith is a little whackier than Tennant. (Fish custard.)

I have the next ep but I've been holding off. I'll be taking a train ride to Florida Sunday and 2 & 3 will make good entertainment.

We have it recorded, but I think we're going to hold it until summer, and if the DVDs come out, then we'll Netflix them. We don't have BBC America HD on FiOS, so the video quality won't be that good.

looking forward to tonight and very glad to see good reviews so far.

Is it bad I'm already curious about how Jack will relate with 11?

At this point I'm just hoping Jack gets the opportunity to relate to 11. Has anyone heard anything about him turning up on DW this season or another season of Torchwood?

I definitely don't expect him on DW(definitely not this series anyway) and another season of Torchwood looks pretty unlikely at this point. Though there are rumblings of a possible Torchwood US (which the original creative team --RTD, Julie, etc -- would be involved with) that Jack might be a part of. However, right now the future of Torchwood is very much up in the air.

not what I wanted to hear

I hope that Jack will be back in a few EPs. I'm also hoping that TW would continue. I've really enjoyed watching it.

Anyone know anything about SJA returning? SciFi channel had it for a bit then stopped after the second season. I haven't heard anything since then :confused3

well the second series has already aired in the UK entirely. I don't think it did particularly well over here, so I'm not sure if we'll be getting it anymore. (I don't think Scifi was the best outlet for a children's spinoff of Doctor Who:confused3) As far as I've heard though, there hasn't been anything said about anymore of it being shown over here.

SJA Series 4 was greenlighted in the UK a while ago, so the series is going strong over there.

As for airing here, I haven't heard. At some point we should be getting the DVD boxset for them all. You'll at least be able to buy it or Netflix it. US Whovians keep the video sales going, and from what my local Suncoast tells me DW is a hit with all the "cool kids" these days. (I've been a Who fan since I was a teen back in the 80's.)

I was watching The eleventh Hour on BBCA while packing for my trip tomorrow. It's even better the second time around. Now we're into a repeat and it'll keep me going through the rest of my packing.

I've set it up as a program to record on my DVR, which I share with family via my Slingbox. My nieces and nephews plan to host a Doctor Who night with the recordings. Moving it to BBCA on Saturday nights was the best scheduling. it really livens up a dull Saturday night (or Sunday afternoon if you are busy Sat).

havent watched the episode yet , but did watch the special on DR. Who right before.

glad I did
Professor River song will be back!!!! yeahhh

also the "don't blink" statues *eek*
