Thanx for clarifying things :goodvibes

No probs, although this more like opinions than true fact. :teeth:

I have seen all the eps of Series 1, and the confidental eps too. Also saw Totally Doctor Who, but I think it is a bit rubbish. Yay me! :teeth: I think this year I will watch the Dr Who Confidental eps, that is provided I don't get booted from the living room again.

Thank you Doctor Who obsessed Uncle for the Box set! :teeth:

A little FYI, "New Earth" (i.e. the first ep of the new series) has been given a Fear Factor of 4: Chilling. Probably going to get a lot of hug-needing children for this one. :)

Yay, Doctor Who is today! Woo!

I saw a Trailer showing the important bits on the TV, not sure how you do it. I think it's via the red button, which is a shame for non-Skyers.

After seeing that Trailer, all I have to say is that I can't wait to see episode 3, where Sarah and Rose face off. It's going to be so funny. :rotfl:

You will need to tell us what you think about it :thumbsup2

Don't Worry, I will. :teeth:

By next weeks episode, everyone will probably be sick and tired of me going on about Doctor Who.. :rolleyes2

Saw episode 1. It was awesome!

Really liked the Cassandra possesing Rose/the Doctor. Very funny, and well played by both Billie and Dave. Wasn't too keen on the Sick people, but other than that a laugh all the way. :)

Doctor number 2 (Patrick Troughton for any major Dr who fans) was orignally brought in because they thought Doctor number 1 (William Hartnell) was too old to continue, and so really you can ignore him being a doctor. Although there was a regeneration scene in the Doctor Who series, A) they annonced that it was more of a replacement anyone and B) The footage is non-existant anymore: the BBC wiped most of the tapes back in the 1970s to make room for new stuff. No-one has any proof to prove me wrong. :teeth:

Doctor number 8 (Paul McGann) only played the character in the 1996 TV movie, and nothing else. No regeneration scene either, so you can't really say that he was a Doctor. (Although you probably can argue for him being a Doctor as Chris mentions in the First ep of the new series that he "turned out OK; pity about the ears though.." so you could say that there was some sort of regeneration at some point. Still, until they prove it I am not really fuss. :teeth: )

I told you guys I had Internal Logic! :goodvibes

Patrick Troughton was brought in because William Hartnell was ill ( hence in the 3 Doctors he only appeared in the TARDIS monitor). William Hartnell was also "replaced" in a number of episodes in the first series, when ill, and filmed from behind. The regeneration scene also still exists. However the final part of the 10th Planet is missing.

Paul McGann did regenerate, played in conjunction in the morgue alongside the old Boris Karloff "Frankenstein" movie. Paul McGann was also signed up for 3 feature length episodes, which I believe he is still entitled to do.

......Christopher Eccleston, of course wasn't shown to regenerate.

Thought episode 1 was great. Im really warming to David Tennant. Cant wait for the rest of the series. :goodvibes

I'm sure we won't be ~ I love when people are passionate about things they enjoy :cool1:

You know the Disinfectant part of episode 1? Well, you have got to imagine the frustration of when the scene went wrong. I mean, you have to dry the clothes, clean the actors/set etc. Must of been very high expectations. :teeth:

Missed the whole episode yesterday and missed the first 15 minutes on BBC3 today. What happened?

Why does David Tenant not have a scottish accent? It must be hard to have that London accent. I asked DH (who is scottish) if he could put on a London accent. He cant do it and he has been in London for 20 years! David Tenant is very talented. I like him as the Dr.

Looking forward to next week and have now set the sky plus.

David and Billie get sprayed with Water then powder and are then blown with a fan in a lift cubicle. Very funny to watch, but must of been annoying to do if they had to retake it again and again.

I don't know why he doesn't do his scottish accent; McCoy got away with it. Perhaps he is stuck using the voice that made him so popular in Casanova.

I think David maybe able to show off his true colours in next weeks episode though.. :goodvibes

Sky+ it for DF, might give it a watch when he watches it.

I really like Dr Who and I please it came back last year and has received so many awards, Last Saturdays start obtained over 8m viewers up against Harry Potter with 5 m on ITV.

It was good but not the best opener, I think after last year expectations were high, David Tenant is good and a natural Doctor.

Question maybe a bit nick picking?

At start Rose where we going, DW Further then we have been ever before, was it 5 billion and 23?

Then in the show one of the patients, (Duke of Manhattan?) DW Says, There will not be a cure for that for another 1,000 years!

How does he know if its further than he has been before?

Only joking its DW!

Its like Star Trek, going boldly where no one has ever been before and always finding someone there!

He stated that there was a nostaligic revival that went on after the Earth burned so New Earth was founded, therefore the time period would be later and perhaps the distance would be farther.
Also it was "further than WE have gone before" not "I have gone before" he was around for 900 years before Rose so hes been around a bit.

And yes I'm a geek.

Thanks for the clarification Tiggery. I am glad there is a Doctor Who Expert here; I don't know that much about Doctor Who. Only what the Chris Ec series/my brother/my uncle/wikipedia/Dr Who confidental can tell me.

To me, there is nothing prior to 2005 and Chris Ec is my William Hartnell. Likewise, David Tennant is my Pat Troughton. That's probably how Russell T Davies wanted it to be anyway. :teeth:

Edit: A little FYI: the doctor knows lots about Earth History, and so he either A) knows it from another source, B) is just randomly guessing or C) really DID go there already.

And no, your not a geek. :)

Would it be cool if Dr. Chris met Dr. Dave? Think about it; the doctor could go back in time and meet himself. He has done it before in a couple of specials, so why not for 1 episode? As long as they don't handshake, it's ok. :goodvibes:

Getting Chris/Davies to do it is another thing though.. :)
