has anyone been on it because i am going on it soon and i want to know if it's any good, also add pictures in this thread too thanks

whether it's any good or not it is personal interpretation. I don't like 'drop' tower rides, but I love DD. I'd rather be shot up than dropped initially, and the view is great.

Welcome aboard.

Of course it's good. Most people freak out their first time and they're scared. After the blast off, they laugh, and want to go again. If you want to see an onride video, check out my page here.

We love Doctor Doom's  It took my husband quite a while to persuade me to go on it on our first trip and I was scared witless but it was great. To me, the build-up is what makes the ride good. The actual ride itself only lasts a few seconds :)

Dr. Doom's is an outside ride. You get a great view the whole time.

We rode it this past trip. My son loved it and he isn't a huge thrill ride kid! i personally thought it was a wee bit lame...needed to drop a few more times like Tower of terror then it would be perfect! I did love that fact you could see all around the park!

but isn't there a bit inside you go in, that's what i want to see in pics if anyone has any

The only bit that's inside is the queuing area.

I've got some, but I can't post them. there are a few sites that have pics of the queue and the doombots.

This is one of my favorite rides in the park!

This was a fun ride, but I prefer the ones that take you up and then just drop you. This one reminds me way too much of the frog hopper my sons go on at a kiddie park near here.

How does this compare to Tower of Terror? Does it shoot you up and then drop you or just shoot you up?

It shoots you up and then drops you immediately, so there is a brief feeling of weightlessnessat the top. I love Dr Doom, and the Tower of Terror, but won't ride ones that take you slowly up to the top and hold you there for awhile before they drop you (like the Pittfall here at Kennywood). I hate that dangling up in the air waiting to drop. At least in tower of terror it is in the dark.

I find space shots (Doom) much scarier than drop towers. Much more forceful, and you have no time to adjust to how high up you are.
